I'm looking for a nice looping background music for a flash game I'm working on. I see stock sound effects cd's etc. but I'm looking for sort of "stock music". The game is an rpg/fighting game so I'm looking for something midieval or in the retro style of SNES RPG's.

Anyone know of a site that sells stock background music? I can't really afford to hire someone to create it custom, so hopefully there's something generic available..

I like soundrangers.com, very reasonable pricing and high quality.

There are tons! www.shockwave-sound.com, www.freshmusic.com, www.opuzz.com, www.massivetracks.net ... those (and Soundrangers) are the ones in my bookmarks. I've only bought music from Shockwave so far, and no complaints (only 1 song though!).

I think Aaron Walz may have some stock music that you can buy for your game. I had him make music for me, but he's got a couple of CDs out as well. His site is http://www.walzmusic.com.

not sure if this has been mentioned before but:

Kevin MacLeod has free royalty free music in many genres here (http://incompetech.com/m/c/royalty-free/)

all he ask is for credit and a donation would be nice.

he also has grid paper and stock photos.

good luck

I've used Kevin's stuff before too. He's really good.
