The mouse input had been a problem. And Seth Robinson - http://www.rtsoft.com - suggested I use wasd movement in 4 directions and use the mouse to aim. Well already one person said it was fine for them (being used to that) so i'm curious if anyone else agrees. Is this a good input scheme to go with? Note the screenshot is the same as previous, but there is a new version of the game.

So to move around you can use left/right arrow keys to rotate, up/down to thrust, -* OR *- you can use the mouse to aim the catcher, and wasd to move in 4 directions.

Please test out wasd/mouse rotation for me.

well, to be honest, if you wanna make a "casual" game...using the mouse + keyboard might be a bit much.

It might be a good idea to think of the direction you want it to go, like some sorta fast-paced action game, or sometime kinda relaxing with soothing music.

If you're thinking fast-paced action, the wads + mouse works well, otherwise it's too much.

Thanks for being about the only one who continually replies, lol... each mouse idea i've tried has not worked well. I think i'll just drop mouse support. I can't make it do anything properly.

for the older version:

for a newer attempt:

I think i'll forget about the mouse control. Someone else tried to suggest another method, but i was too tired to really get what he was proposing.

Plus keyboard is more retro anyways. I will allow reconfiguration of the keys in the final version, and I do have wasd to do normal movement right now, (up/down left rotate/right rotate) like the arrow keys.

I think i'll stick to that.

Next up is actual gameplay enhancements.
