View Full Version : Feedback Request : Very early stage testing
First of all, hello to everybody, I just joined in.
I need some feedback on my game, it is in very early stage of development, but I need the feedback to get better view what do I need to do. So, basicly, bitch about everything you don't like. :)
Here is the link :

I'm not going to guide you how to play this game, because I need to know is it easy-to-get-in. The only help I will give you is : use your mouse. :)

Definately recommend showing off some screenshots...

Added screenshot, thanks for the note. :)
I get empty buttons (http://zppz.homelinux.net/arex/treesman-ss1.jpg).
My system info (http://zppz.homelinux.net/systeminfo/SI.xml).
Ya, a sorting problem, I quess. It is weird that with some computers it doesn't sort things right. I will need to take a closer look at the sorting thing later. :)
Edit : Uploaded a new version. Could you try it one more time? :)
Thanks!

As far as I can tell, I'm supposed to be a lumber company, right?
I have to use software rendering because I don't have Vertex Shader 1.1 But as far as I can tell, the game is 2D... Still runs at like 80+ frames per second, but it runs in windowed mode and cuts off some messages at the very bottom of the screen.
Also, how do you close the purchasing window once you click the option to buy/sell something? I don't know how to do it and I've lost a game already because my trees apparently died because I was purchasing an axe. So I can't go to buy food for the trees, because if I do, I can't get back to the trees.
Here's a screenshot. (http://studentpages.scad.edu/~tcurry20/screenshot.jpg)
Ya, some people already mentioned about that : how to close those sell/buy dialogs?
Press the right mouse button to close em. I definetly need add a close button to there at some point. :)
Thanks for feedback!
Same sorry. I also notice that if I move the window away from the top left corner of my screen (where it is initially placed) the mouse selection of the trees doesnt work. It seems to be using the coordinates of the mouse with respect to the entire screen rather than the window. Same thing if I maximize the window.

Damn.. well something is really messing up those fonts, might the the 3d card.
True, basically window resizing/moving will mess it up currently. I haven't done it because I need to make some decisions before adding it in there. Wouldn't be a big job, but this game has been under development only a week, so.. :)
Edit : Ya I think it is your 3d card what is messing them up, they don't get drawn at all. Try to update your drivers.
I have now fixed some stuff from there, window can be moved now. Also at the same time I found one bug due to debugging code inside the graphics enside, it produced disabling the color keying (this has happened with a few testers already). :)
I hope it is in a better shape now. I couldn't find any reason for that font thing, I'm already pretty sure it is about the GPU.
