I have no idea what to make of "Lopens". Does it have some intrinsic meaning?
It might help us to help you if you could explain more about your company and what it does.

oh the wonders of creating a new name!
choosing the **right** name for your business is not a trivial or "spur of the moment" thing. there are lots of articles about choosing the right name for your business, here is one i found off google:
http://www.entrepreneur.com/startingabusiness/startupbasics/namingyourbusiness/article49356.html
be sure to consult a dictionary and thesaurus, business search, trademark search, etc. to make sure you aren't infringing on someone else's name. and even if a domain name appears to be unregistered, do a whois to make sure before deciding on that name, lots of times a domain is already registered even if it doesn't point to anything.
and remember, be unique!!!

Inform yourself! Read this guide and look for more, there is a lot of info on the subject to digest on the internet
http://www.igorinternational.com/process/naming-guide-product-company-names.php
(add an "i" between "n" and "s"...)
From this moment on, you will be known as "Mighty Morphin Power Games"!!1 Lawsuits pending, of course.
Though, my advice is to watch out for long hard to spell made up names... like you see in my signature. They confuse people. That's bad.

We just interesting what you think about this word, because I'm russian and it doesn't evoke anything at all for me. Ok, Christian, I understand about loPENIS =) That's all?

Besides that, it evoques absolutelly nothing for me, i have no idea what it means, i think thats bad, you should have a name that evoques some good things that makes your possible clients be happy with being your client (read the guide, if you havent).
Thinking a bit more: Something about pens (something like ThePens), Lopez (wich is a common last name around this parts), it seems like a sober last name of some boring business man.

If you sell games make sure your company has the word 'games' in it's title. IE Lopen Games.

Nexic, why do you think that would be necesary?, remember that every name is applied in its context and never outside it, your recommendation assumes that the name will be displayed out of context, only out of context it would be necesary to describe what his company is about (games), but since the names of companies are allways accompanied by its product, its not necesary to describe what your product is.

Ah, so Lopen is a "person". That clears things up a little.
I rather like "Lopen (Lopen's) Games" as a company name. You'd want to have Lopen appear all over the place though (a mascot in every featured game to some degree).
But yes, from my own thoughts with "indieproofing" and many comments on these forums here are some guidelines:
* Avoid apostrophes, numbers or symbols. They confuse.
* Avoid long names and difficult to spell words.
* Try to use unique and unusual names.
From those, "Logan Games" is a possible winner.

"Jey Lo Games"... Sounds great. I'm sorry about that fact that I'm not Jennifer Lopez =)

Why "Logan"? Maybe "Lopen"? I can't understand what the difference :)
Thanks. So "Lopen Games" are not so bad... Even for native english-speakers.
Lopen is an interesting name - it sounds like it should be a word, but I guess it's not. So I think that's good. I like it because the spelling is exactly how you would expect. I saw somewhere how all 5 letter domain names were gone, and most 6 letter ones so if you can find a spare spot that is good.

Aaagh, sorry! I must have mistyped. I was thinking of Logan's Run, probably (though I have no idea why).
