Does anybody ever get money from Motion Plus Media (prev. Megaware, NL)? They publish CDs in Europe/Australia/NZ etc., and keep publishing our games without paying any royalties.

Nice Games (http://www.nice-games.net) started to receive e-mails to support from France and I just found that Pickman 3D was published again as PacMax in DVD box (http://www.motionplusmedia.com/modules.php?name=Games&pa=showpage&pid=63&cid=2). As far as I know the Publishing Agreement with Luuk from Megaware has expired last year. They paid about 1/5 of guaranteed minimum royalties as advance in first year (2002 or 2003?), and just disappeared.

They also keep selling Tank-o-Box title (http://www.motionplusmedia.com/modules.php?name=Games&pa=showpage&pid=57&cid=1), that I acquired from Nice Games in the end of 2004. In the early 2004 Megaware paid a small advance to Nice Games, but has never paid royalties for that game later and nobody ever signed Agreement with Megaware for Tank-o-Box title. After my request to stop sales they contacted Nice Games once and also disappeared.

I understand that I just inherited all these problems, and can not do anything about it right now. But I would strongly recommend anyone to keep away from Megaware and its successor and assign - Motion Plus Media from Netherlands.

Sounds like you need a solicitor involved mate. It'd be too expensive to go the whole hog, but at least get a letter or two out there.

Aw, come on. We haven't had a software piracy, is it indie?, or cloning debate in ages. We should re-hash this old gem. ;)

Might save someone some trouble.

Luuk has contacted Nice-Games the same day I posted this message here. I am curious if they really ready to pay royalties. I will keep you informed :)

Even though we've had bitter (mildly spoken) experience with a "publisher" from Netherlands (Xing) with our first game, we've entered into agreement with another Netherlands publisher Motion Plus Media for our second game.
Only, this time it was a flat-fee deal, and we did get all our money, though with a really minor latency.
Speaking from our experience only, if I had to compare the two publishers, I would say they are on the opposite ends of the spectrum.
But I'm a bit confused with what cliffski is alluding. Is MPM somehow connected with Alex? (if he actually is "the-one-who-shall-not-be-named" you are reffering to ;) )

Luuk finally replied to my mail, but didn't reply any of my questions. I really doubt we will work to Motion Plus Media. Since he is not going to pay we will insist on removal of all titles from the sites and sales.
