Is there less traffic on the forum these days?

I don't have any numbers to look at, but there's been a few technical difficulties lately with the site being unavailable or slow which may be contributing to reduced traffic if that is the case. Why?
EDIT: I just checked the user activity statistics in the admin reports and it seems activity has been nearly constant for about a year at it's current levels. So perhaps it's not decreasing, it's just not growing as fast.

I wonder if there are less posts?

Well Sonicron only posts every now and then these days so that's halved the total normal yearly postings right there. ;)
Then there is also Savant gone AWOL... another big poster (though I'm sure he's around in another guise).
I think the rest are just too busy working on their games these days to talk ( I know I am).

Yes. The loss and decline of several heavy posters (myself, Savant, Cas, etc.) has left the forum a little slow. It could just be my imagination, but I'd venture a guess and say the traffic has been replaced by a significant number of newbies and feedback requests.
On that note, I'm about to round 3,000 posts. We should have a party! Or, ban me for life. ;)

<evil dan>I'll just tweak your account when you get 2,999 posts so that it never rolls over to 3k no matter how much you post. </evil dan>
:)
I must admit, I lurk a lot more lately trying to spot posts I might be able to offer some help to someone with. I've just found that there's not a lot I have that's useful to say, and a lot of the conversation does not seem wholly relevant to me any more.
Pretty much all the useful info the indiegamer forum has provided me has been via either the private forum (It's a shame it doesn't get used as much as it could, and that there isn't a private forum that isn't pruned so useful info can be kept there for posterity), or by conversations via private messaging. People here have been very kind and helpful in disclosing information that they might not otherwise have been able to publicly share.

I'd post a bit more but I'm sorta depressed these days and haven't worked on my new game for a few months. Hopefully will recover my mind soonish and return to my normal annoying self. Maybe I'll start an evalengical Java thread or release another flop or something. That should spice things up a bit.

Well, I still run off at the mouth (the hands?) as much as I always have... with little advice of value but lots of spewage to screw up the signal-to-noise ratio (like this post!)
Maybe I can goad Cas by saying Java sucks for writing games or something. But I dunno if he'll take the bait anymore :)

My game has been bussy with me
Once you've spewed your personal bile, why hang around in forums? We've all got work to do, right? Otherwise we wouldn't be wasting our time here :)
I've got tons to do trying to finish off my first game and I think it's a damn good idea to put a limit on the time (place actually - while I'm here at my day job :p ) I spend here in this forum.

We could talk about these controls in Alien Flux...
