Rant: No Match-3 For Me!

I sometimes see games with really cool names asking for feedback requests on these forums. Upon reading the name of the game, some of them make me think of fantasy RPGs, some of them make me think of fighting games or FPS's and some make me think of cool space based games... but then I open the screen shots and its ANOTHER MATCH-3!! ARGGGGG!, *I cry towards the ceiling as birds flock from my roof top*.

Because of this I have decided to start my next project and it will be far from casual. It wont be the most original game in the world, it probably wont make much money, but it will be NOT be a match-3 game! It will be 3D, multi-player, with lots of brutal action and the name will reflect this.

Where were you when I was moaning about this mindless cloning of tired old crap a few weeks ago! :)

Good luck to you, and I hope it does well. Here's a todo list:
1) Make a good job of the game
2) Get it reviewed in proper mags and stir up some hype
3) Buy ferrarri

It would sure be nice to see some of this "indie dev sets you free" I keep hearing about without the "...to copy other peoples mini games" bit on the end 'they' always miss off.

It's a quick 3-4 week project, but it's not a typical match 3 or casual game. I think some people will find it fairly refreshing.
