Hi, I was wondering. I have a few questions concerning portals. Excuse me, if this has been posted before.

Say, I have a good quality game and submit it to a portal.

1.) Do I have to make a seperate demo?
2.) How does registration or getting the full version work? Do they buy and then download the full version? Or do they get a key to activate the game?

I was wondering this, becuase I have a certain bussiness model that I want to use when I develop casual games. I have been developing freeware stuff for 2 years now, so I am taking the next step to selling my games.

Thanks.

1) yes.. but not a demo... usually a full version with links to your site removed and their logos/marketing stuff added in
2) typically you provide a full version and then they wrap your exe with their own DRM (digital rights management) software which handles the locking/unlocking/purchasing stuff

A little simple research would answer those questions. ie: go to the portals and download games! I can't imagine wanting to compete in this market without checking out what the existing competition is already doing...

Of course.

Once I get my DSL, I will download some of the indie games on the portals (soon). Thanks for the advice!
