Anyone had any luck downloading the free Poser 5 today? I keep getting sent back to the page http://www.contentparadise.com/us/user/home.php
I registered with them, but no matter what I do in my attempts, I keep getting the same page.

It seems broken/overloaded, tho I am not registered.
Thanks for the link, I will continue to try to get it (and overload it even more :o )

I go to http://www.contentparadise.com/us/user/mystuff.php
and from there I can try to download under the my purcahses. that works fine for me, well apart from being overloaded

I was finally able to get it added to MyStuff. Now it's just the challenge of getting the download inbetween overloads... ;)

I got in to download it on Sunday night. It took hours and when it was through, it didn't work. Since then, I have been trying to get in, but it's always too busy.

I tried one attempt to download and it was extremely slow. Didn't take long before it timed out and stopped completely. According to information given to me by the site, the download link will remain in My Stuff indefinately. I think I'll wait till the rush is over before attempting again.

Thanks FrozenInIce -- I just downloaded mine, no probs now (~50k/s for me). Like you say, the d/l link stays in your account anyway.
Gawd, I really have no clue how to use that program :o
[EDIT. Hmm, some really nice free content on the 2nd CD]

It was very convenient that their websites experienced those traffic problems during the free offer, now all the people interested in Poser 5 still have the "chance" to be able to buy for $20 (and no traffic problems anymore).
</cynical mode off>

I tried downloading it from the MyStuff section, but all I get are empty html files. The link was supposed to remain active as long as it's in the account. I guess they changed their minds or maybe they are still experiencing server problems. Who knows, but I've lost interest and they lost a future customer.
Yay I hope that this doesn't lead to a pile of more indie game developers using Poser 5 for in-game art... That'd make me cry quite a bit, I think.
Anyway, nice of 'em to hand out the non-latest version of their program... it'll probably lead to quite a few sales of the newer one for 'em. Smart plan, methinks.

hi,
I get the same if I use Opera, its working in IE. Something wacky with those links, but for me they still work from the 'My Stuff' section.

Yeh they had website problems. But they made it clear that if you signed up immedietely you could download it later after the offer ended.
I finally got it downloaded and installed this morning. Haven't used it yet.
And As for indie games using poser. I think Kudos looks great and I beleive cliffski said he used Poser for the characters.
course I still haven't tried using it yet

Kudos is a notable exception, in that Cliffski has enough design know-how to make the software work for him. Most games that use Poser characters look generic.

I used Poser to create a couple of images in Cellsquads. A touching up of the render, done in a different program than Poser, went a long way.

Aye Kudos does look pretty good, though he didn't use Poser 5 I'm pretty sure. Even there though I'd say the female characters could've used an artist repainting the eyes... Creepy walking-dead eyes! AAH! The ones with glasses looked good though. :D

it is indeed Poser6, plus various additional purchased models and textures sets etc. Poser 6 and its various add ons represented the vast majority of the costs of making Kudos (ignoring my own time).
