What is DigitalRiver and what does it do?

I really don't understand their site (neither faqs, services or abouts)
Some one who can translate it to child understandable English?

Thanks

As far as I know, Digital River itself doesn't do anything for you. It's the corporate body that owns a number of e-commerce / transaction providers like regnow.com

If you want to set up a sales page for your game you go to a place like regnow to do it, not the Digital River corporate page.

Gotta love the corporate speak on their website! These guys should write for Sony's PS3 marketing team!

They buy up all the payment companies so that in the future we will be forced to pay their over expensive rates.

They're kind of like Huhcorp. (http://www.huhcorp.com/index.htm)

I don't like them much at all. They are very expensive, and I feel they dishonestly trick customers into buying their expensive and unneeded extended download service. What's worse, is that you can't turn this service off. They do have a nice affiliate network, but it doesn't make up for the rest.

I've had several customers forget to 'uncheck' this expensive service when they buy my product through them and everytime I see it happen, it gives me a cringe.
