Recommended portals?

Hey I was just wondering which portals seem to result in the most website hits and game downloads and sales. Obviously there is upload.com, but I am not aware of any others. I am trying to do my homework for my first real release in August. Thanks

You appear to be confusing download sites with portals. Which are you actually talking about? I'm guessing you really mean download sites, in which case I recommend a service ( like ours, gee, what are the odds? ) who will submit your software to a large number of sites for a very low charge. Submitting to download sites is a long and tedious process, so having it all done for you is a real help.

Failing that, you might want to consider a program like Shareware Tracker which makes the submission process a bit quicker, but is a bit more expensive and still involves a fair amount of work.

And the return on your time investment is almost nil. On the other hand, you do pick up lots of 5/5 awards for your web site.
