Hello fellow indies,

Anyone interested in exchange link to us?
We already listed some developers and we're waiting for them linking back to us... anyone interested just drop us a line :)

many thanks

Guess link exchange is not a popular topic. Few reads and no answer. I've seen a lot of friendly "link to us and send an e-mail telling us and we'll link back". From more than 20 developers we listed in our site, after more than two weeks, only two linked back to us.. so.. this lead to believe me one of two things:

a)they aren't interested in exchange links anymore

b)they take two or three months to find time to link back if they will

I get about.. ohhh...20-30 link exchange requests a day, most of them from so called "search engine professionals" asking me to link to pretty bogus, unrelated sites, with names like download-more-soft-now-free.com or great_ski_equipment.net etc... Stuff like that. These pages of course have 30 pages of links they're going back to under every possible conceived category. It's just a whole lotta BS.

Frankly, the practice of link exchanges has gotten so spammy and abused, that I tend to just ignore the emails and delete them nowdays. It's not that I don't want to trade links with similar like minded small devs, it's just that I can no longer be bothered to sift through all the junk requests to pick out the more legit ones, especially knowing that the practice of link exchanges is now abused to a point where it must have dubious value in terms of seo.

Hi.. Thanks svero... right before posting the topic, I imagined that a lot of the developers we sent the e-mail had these problems with spammer and SEO professionals.. but even here, in a indie game developer forum, where a lot of developers from every part of the world comes to discuss and share great info this topic of (link exchange) didn't get many attention anyway. (Well, I'm assuming that its clear I'm not spamming when posting this topic :D )

thanks, svero... really

take care
