The May monthly game round-up has just been posted, check it out here:

http://www.gametunnel.com/articles.php?id=477

The game of the month is Eets.
Notably it was the 10th Editor's Choice pick since the beginning of the round-up, and the first this year. The others:

Land of Legends - November 05
Weird Worlds: Return To Infinite Space - October 05
Fate - July 05
Mexican Motor Mafia - June 05
Jets'n'Guns - November 04
BreakQuest - November 04
Outpost Kaloki - September 04
Global Defense Network - July 04
Chromadrome - July 04

This is the 23rd month in a row of doing the GT round-up, just a month shy of 2 years. A big thanks to all those who have made it happen over that period of time. We've seen over 300 games in that stretch, which is absolutely an astonishing number when you stop and really think about it.

Sadly this is the last round-up that will feature Mike Kasprzak as his time availability won't let him participate further. I wanted to give a big public thanks for all the time he has put in to the round-up. The panel really does a great job each month, and I think the fact that only around 1 in 30 games get's an Editor's choice award (even less of late...5 in the last year and a half have received the reward) makes each Editor's Choice award quite special. Thanks to Mike K. for his time in making it special, and Seth and Mike H. for their equally diligent efforts in doing the panel.

The round-up can always use more readers and so please be sure to share it with everyone you know.

...this is the last round-up that will feature Mike Kasprzak...

Oh. Great! So it would be less stupid review in there now?! :D

Saying seriously though thanks to Mike for his efforts. And thanks to all the guys for their participation. After all this is really always fun reading I'm waiting for and returning to every month.

2 years is really The Date. Good job Russell!

REM: You should calculate what the whole number of games was reviewed. I believe this huge number should really show even better what the efforts this has required from you.

REM1: As always I disagree with ALL reivews and their vision how to write them and on this business in general. But who cares? :)

Thanks,

Once again Russell an interesting read. Well Done (to all the review team). I kind of agreed with all the scores so it seemed pretty spot on and non-biased to me :)

Keep up the good work!

On Olar & Elmar:

There's enough unique here that those of us who don't run clone-bashing sites couldn't fairly call this a Sokoban clone.

Sorry to hear it will be Mike's last time; but it seems like a good opportunity to thank him and all the other panelists for providing an entertaining read every month, and playing all those games so I don't have to. Thanks, all.

I just want to say thanks for reviewing my game Olaf & Elmar. Appearently the mouse control system needs some rethinking, I guess.

The reviews were right. Great fun. Demo had me laughing my a** off. Other family members think I lost my mind!

Any way to turn off the music? Really repetitive for my taste.

Thanks ;)

Actually, there isn't a built-in way to do so. Sorry about that! However, you can do it via a command-line option like so:

1) Go to the directory where you installed Eets, and go to the Bin
subdirectory.

2) Create a shortcut to Eets.exe

3) Open the properties of the shortcut, and add "-nosound" to the
target path. Run this shortcut.

Cheers,
Jamie.
