Hi,

If you feel like it, could you list the graphics cards that caused you the most problems in development? this could be kind of fun. I'm trawling ebay for the absolute worst and stinkiest possible casual hardware :)

I'd like to know what the real stinkers were for you, and what kind of problems it gave you.

Thanks guys!

Just bought an ATI Riva 128 on eBay for 1.00 Euro for exactly your purposes. ;)

Disclaimer: I am on OpenGL.. dunno how crap the Riva is in D3D, but for OGL it plainly sucks. Another laaaaaaaame OpenGL card is the Matrox 200/400/450 I heard, but haven't verified yet.

I already have a notebook with a SiS630 which is already lame enough anyway. ;)

On my PC I got a GeForce 6800 @ Ultra and on my wife's PC a Radeon 9800 Pro. I also have on my server a Radeon 9200 and (not used) a Radeon 8500 and a Xabre.

I should put the Xabre on the server so I can test it too (no sense having two Radeons to test on).

Yes, you're not alone in your prudent thoughts.. ;P

Any ATI card prior to the first Radeons.
Any card with S3 or VIA or Matrox or SiS chips in it.
Doesn't leave much :) Basically only nVidia and Radeons work properly. Intel Extremely Shits occasionally work ok but mostly not.

Cas :)

Intel Integrated 8xx all basically just suck. The driver was/is broken as hell and performance is really bad. Eventually we had to make the executive decision to declare these chips unsupported.
