Hey, when I saw the screen shots I was excited to play and downloaded right away! I couldnt get the controls to work. My Gamepad seems to cause it to look in the upper left corner and I can't seem to bypass it to use the mouse. I could probably get it to work by unplugging the gamepad, but I really wanted to use my gamepad!! :)

Currently DarkMatter supports the XBox 360 controller and the Original XBox controller. What controller are you using? I'd have to get my hands on the same device to support it which could be a costly endevour to support all gamepads! Perhaps a revision can be made in the near future to support your controller.

I'm using the Nyko Airflow (it is exactly like an xbox controller) and it works well with Geo wars clones that use Xbox controllers :(

Doens't work on win2k? I downloaded and I get some dll error, then I saw the requirements are XP.

Software that doesn't support Win2K and is XP-only beats every record of "DELETE-key hit" in my PC. Even if I have another machine with XP installed (for testing purposes, don't get me wrong), it's still a matter of principle.

I agree. You'll have to pry my butter churn from my cold dead fingers.

In pure observation, what makes a software require win xp? I mean, I never knew that winxp and win2k were that much different (aside from win xp being more stable, more powerful, more features, etc)

jankoM, can you tell me the missing DLL. I'd like to try and get it working for you although I don't have Win2K.

I can tell you tomorrow because that was in my office and ADSL at home doesn't work today so I won't be downloading it here. I think it was something about some call missing in some dll.

Vincent033, first, the game looks pretty nice, the graphics and overall feel of everything is great. The menu's are a bit confusing though, its nice that the text shows up if I mouse-over something, but....that forces me to hover over all the options to see what they are.

I also had the mouse tracking issue, the ship faced the upper left side, no matter where I moved my mouse. I had to unplug my usb gamepad in order to play the game....you might want to warn users about that, otherwise they'll think something's wrong with the game.

I played the game's first campaign, got to the laser gun and cleared everything on the screen....then...nothing. The game just sat there, I'm guessing thats a bug.

Anyways, its a cool looking, nice playing game, I think if you could resolve the input issues (its not that hard to support other gamepads, look into direct input) and some of the gameplay issues, you'll have a hit on your hands.

Thanks for the demo, and good luck.
