This Winter’s Hit Puzzle Goes Online!

Sugar Games announces the immediate availability of the FREE online version of Rainbow Web, this winter’s hit puzzle on almost all US game portals

Sugar Games today announces the immediate availability of the online version of Rainbow Web, which is located at http://www.SugarGames.com/rainbow_web/online/ . The online version follows an extremely successful launch of the desktop version of the game that showed good results on almost all US game portals and sold over 30 thousand copies during the first three months after the launch.

“We are very excited about the release of the online version of Rainbow Web, says Michael Tretyakov, CEO of Sugar Games. “Online gaming is seen a surge in popularity and putting the game online is our contribution to this new and promising trend. For many office workers, Rainbow Web will be an excellent digital diversion during a hard working day. Supposing you have a coffee-break or simply have some time to spare, you can play this marvel in any browser without the need to download and install the desktop version. By the way, the latter is restricted in many companies, so the online version is a compromise. Five or ten minutes spent on the game will do you much good as you can unwind yourself and have a bit of quick fun.”

Rainbow Web takes place in the Rainbow Kingdom as Spider, a wicked wizard, casts an evil spell on the happy wonderland and its creatures and spins a web around. Assuming the role of a brave traveler, you must free letters from the magic web to restore the real names of the places. As soon as you have restored all the names, the Rainbow kingdom and all its creatures will be back to sunshine, and rainbows will sparkle and shine in the sky as before.

The game has a round playfield made as a web, which carries lots of multicolored beads. Your objective is to swap neighboring beads to make a horizontal or vertical line of three or more matching beads. The goal of the game is to restore a magic phrase that can break the spell. Some of the beads have letters on, so you have to make matches with them to collect all letters needed to restore a word or a phrase. Once it has been restored, you continue your adventure on the next level!

Good stuff. A fairly solid Flash rendition. I'm a big fan of Rainbow Web. Got additicted and had to beat the full version.

Honestly the great music and nice sound effects was what did it for me in the downloadable. You may wish to consider adding more of that to the online version. It just felt lacking in character that the downloadable is so full of. If size drove that decision, Flash has great sound / music compression options. In BLOX Forever we got scores of sounds and music in just 800k.
