Old joke, and it wasn't particularly funny when it was new. It's just some random Pascal lover who is ticked that his favorite, favorite language never took off the way C did, and won't come to grips with the fact that there could be a REASON for that.

It got ressurrected again a few months later as a 'Straustrup admits C++ was a joke'.

Although AFAIK, Stroustrup did write a comedy article about C++ called 'Overloading Whitespace' or something (can't be bothered to google, seeing as its probably the wrong name anyway!), about allowing you to overload tab and space with functions.

None of these are ever particularly funny, and to try quoting them down the pub is a shortcut to a swift kicking...
