What is a good method for actually selling my game (when I finish it that is)? I'm looking at different ecommerce systems like osCommerce, Drupal with a shopping cart, etc. I would prefer something free, but I don't mind paying for a quality product. I just don't want something with a monthly/yearly payment though.

Also I was wondering what a good way was to like let the person upgrade the demo with a serial number? I'm not sure if someone provides a good method for this.

I'm rather new to this whole side of the game industry, so I will appreciate any help you all can provide to help me get my business off the ground. I also hope I can share any insights I have with the rest of the community. Thanks!

Most people use a registration service to sell their games.. See this thread...

With regards to serial numbers etc.. There are a few standard apps that people use. You can check this site to start, but there are other options...

You might want to take a look at what eSellerate has to offer in ways of purchasing through the application. The product that servo mentioned from Silicon Realms is excellent for protection/serial number requirements. However, I've also heard of others out there now who are becoming quite competitive. My suggestion is to follow the recommendations and do a through research of each to find what fits your specific requirements.
