Since we like to look out for each other on this forum, I thought I would post this.

This weekend Cyclone Larry hit the NE shore of Australia. One of our own, Daydream lives there and I talked with him Friday night. He was preparing for the brunt of the storm. News reports are saying that it was the worst storm to hit those shores in three decades. Our prayers and hopes are with the Australian people as well as Daydream and his family as they recover from this cyclone.

You can read more about it here:

When I hear from him, I'll post an update.

Oh man, that is terrible. I am hoping he'll be alright.

We live in Cairns as well, a cat 5 storm was an amazing experience to go through intact.

Unfortunately there is another one coming in.

we too felt some of Larry's rath here in Townsville, just south of the worst hit areas, the first night was extremely hairy, not knowing wether it was going to head South or North I was up until 4am watching the hourly cyclone updates inbetween toilet breaks.

I can only thank my lucky stars that we went unaffected, and my heart goes out to the unfortunate people who took the full force of Larry. I just pray that the other one out there does less damage.

Glad to see everyone came through the storm ok. Daydream reports only minor damage to a roof and lots of debris. Have a great day.
