Anyone else here seen 'Hero', The chinese subtitled film about the assasins?
If you haven't , and it shows near you... GO SEE IT!
This is the most amazing film I've seen in ages. Kind of like Crouching Tiger... but about a thousand times more intense and dramatic. And in places, hilariously funny (if you like that kind of stuff).
Go see it!

Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence
(not for the feeble minded)

Hero was good, but way too communist for my taste.

I'm upset that I missed Hero when it came to theaters here, now I'll have to wait until the DVD release. Until then I hold "Shaun of the Dead" as my favourite film so far this year.

Hero is definitievely worth watching.

Awesome scenery, great fighting scenes, some words of wisdom.. everything that makes a superb chinese fighting movie :) I love those films.

Terminal was... nice... but nothing superb

From movies I would advise Shrek 2 (POLISH VERSION!!) :) Believe me, I have seen shrek 1 in english and polish language version... Polish beats the shit out of english version, it's amazing.. and shrek 2 is at least as good as shrek 1 (polish version).
Shrek was probably the first time when I was preffering polish version instead of english.. I usually try to see english version with polish text... doesn't work for shrek at all.
Ok, go learn polish language now to have few h of great fun ;-)

I managed to see Hero at the local film festival. Thoroughly enjoyable and totally stunning visually. And yes, it was funny... the emperor had great deadpan humour. I totally recommend it also.

I was lucky enough to see Hero last summer. A friend of mine who worked in China (teaching English--to Koreans; go figure) brought back a *legal* all regions DVD of the movie (the menus are in Chinese, so you have to guess a bit :) ).

It's an amazing film. The use of color is breathtaking. And the action is cool, if a bit repetitive by the end of the film. The story is not one we're used to here in the West, but it's still very strong.

I'm glad you said that. My wife and I just booked to see it next Friday night, which will make it the first time in about 4 years - ie, since before our daughter was born - that we went out to see a movie.

:) It's so nice to be on a board with educated people, that no one said the michael moore movie :)

I'm usually a snob when it comes to movies, but I gotta say that I really enjoy Sky Captain & The World Of Tomorrow. If you're like me and love cheesy B movies you'll love this one. It's a lot of fun!

Ob Polish joke:

A Pole goes to the optician who shows him a card with the letters

'C Z W X N Q S T A C Z'.

"Can you read this?" he asks.

"Read it?" the Pole replies, "I know the guy!"

:p

I'm not sure what you are trying to imply there. I thought his film was great, and as for the educated bit, my wife has a phd in molecular biology and she enjoyed it too. what are you getting at? Is everyone who agrees with michael moore un-educated?

20thCenturyBoy:hehehe, good one :)
My name is Czerwiński actually, try to say that and send me a .wav/.mp3 ;-D

I like very much Michal's Moore movie.

Sure, it's cruel... it's maybe kinda strange... but it's funny like hell.

I have seen his "playing with weapons"(?) movie and the last one about Bush.
