Pre-Release of developer support
Hello, My name is Martyn and i am one of the owners of www.developer-support.co.uk
Our site is aimed at offering our support and services to all game developers, at the moment the site is in very early stages which is why i am posting this. I am simply requesting if all would visit the site and offer there comments on the site and the services.
All services are very low priced and offer excellent results. If you are interested in a service then please contact me and i will discuss the matter further.
Or if you wish to have a free consultaion on your game/company then we would be happy to recieve your e-mail
Once again this is a site in its early stages, not all links work along the top menu as they are currently being sorted out.
Thank you for your time and any comments we may recieve

... might I suggest that you employ the services of a proofreader? :)
'there comments'
'recieve'
'Welcome travler'
That's just at a quick glance.
Also, at least on my display, your 'devbanner.png' is being stretched so that it looks like your text is having compression errors. When I loaded the image separately it looked fine. Wrong size setting somewhere?
You're missing a size tag on the font settings for the word Affiliate, so it doesn't look like the rest of your links.
Yes, this is nitpicky, but if you're going to offer professional services to help *others* find their little nitpicky problems, you need to dot your i's and cross your t's. :)

What are the typical rates for the beta testing service?
EDIT: Arg.
We are the typical rates for the beta testing service?
Played a lot of Farmer today Alex? Bwa-ha-ha!... ;)
Saying seriously. The idea is brilliant and so promissing - to outsource the support and don't care about it anymore. But I wouldn't recommend it as far as you are able to do it by your own.
When ever I get our support issue - such as that always "lost the License Code", replaced my harddrive, virus destroyed my system... - I'm able to find the appropriate words for the customer in probably 50% of cases to beat off another order from them. I do believe you can't imagine this follow by my level of English but this is really true. I just feel what to say to peoples - some times I just say: "Joe! You haven't ordered our .... yet?! Oh! What a shame!" Really!!! :)
So, even after you would find very good outside support service I hardly believe it would be able to build up such a relationship between you and your customers.
REM: And of course good luck to your attempt anyway lionheart!!!

hi about the beta testing service, please e-mail me and we can discuss it further, you see it depends on the length of your game, how many beta testers you would like to actually beta the game
so please e-mail me at info@developer-support.co.uk and we will beable to talk further, i hope to hear from you.
Also
I understand that some are abit doubtful about hiring out a company outside of the development team, but who would do a better job at commenting on your game in a non biased way?
We also aim to see our clients not as customers but as fellow developers, we aim to help as many as we can and give as much quality as we can. That is why we are offering everyone a free consulation on there game in order to help them where and whatever they need.

The amount of grammatical errors that are displayed on your site are damaging your chances of getting any clients, and that is not a small thing, its make or break.
A quick quote from the page I exited on: "We are capable of modelling anything that you might require, weather it is dangerous creatures that your hero must battle, or tall industry buildings that is infected by a infection" sentences like these make you sound like you're just starting high school, not a professional who is going to help another build his business. :o
Also, you should perhaps think about a design for your site, something that instantly tells people what you as a company are about. Something like the design here ctxm.com (http://www.ctxm.com/) is what you should be aiming for. Teletext is more attractive than the way it looks at the moment.

And Andy's natural charm always wins them over! ;)
Andy, I read your interview @ gamecloud that you linked to elsewhere, it was a nice/inspiring/interesting read and concurs with many of my private thoughts on the matters discussed (namely get on and do it rather than discuss it until the end of time).
sorry for mini-thread-hijack.

Martyn,
I checked out the website, the grammar (not just spelling) is a bit off. And the design could do with a lick of paint. It would give me no confidence to use your services at the moment with a web site like that i'm afraid. This should be priority #1 if you are offering *services* to other professionals.

what i found strange is how everything seems over explained ?
"Once you have contacted us regarding your interest in this service, we will discuss how this service might be able to help your game. Once you are happy we will send you the contract which both of us will sign. Once this is complete we will require the information that is listed below. With this we can sort out the characters and gather our voice actors which we feel will do the best job for each character. We will then send the script to each voice actor. For every section of talking each voice actor has they will save that as a Wav file and will begin the next section. This will allow you to edit them together into the game without any problems.
"
theyll record it ,save it , then move on to the next recording !!!?? its soooo crazy it migth work ! ;)

I think the way your service is represented sucks and is very amateurish. I shudder when I think of using your service (not that I would).
Every aspect of your site is amateur city. Also, your spelling and grammar are atrocious and you need to improve these aspects. You are selling a service and you are saying to me "I am an amateur".
I am not attempting to attack you, I am being totally honest here, so put the defensiveness to one side.
If I were you, I would offer this service for free for a couple of GOOD developers to begin with before thinking about charging for it. You will learn and also get the vital references you need. Imagine if you provided a service for James C smith for example? Other developers would be breaking your door down to hire you if the outcome was positive.
At the moment you are nobody, and nobody is going to be foolish enough to hire you based on a website of bad grammar and spelling mistakes. Results are everything so consider doing the service for a few well-known clients for free first.

If he's looking for some refernces by doing some work, i yave about 600 low poly 3d building need done, so if he want's i'll pick out 20 of the hardest ones to do. Gets a few off my list, gives him some examples to show off and gets some nice feedback which he can put on his site. (and if it is good i may pay him to do some more as i get the money to pay for them).
*watch's his thread for the rest of the vultures trying to get some free work done :P *
