We are U-Brothers and we will be releasing NEW fantastic game for PC named PSSSST.

Cool looking game with a terrible name. I really can't see talking to a friend and saying, "Hey, have you played pssst?"

And that's not even mentioning the search engine issues - was that 3 esses or 4?

I dunno, I think its quite a cool name. And nice screnshots, although your website seems to be dead.
If the crash test dummies can have a hit with mmmmm mmmmm mmmmm then anythings doable :D

Yeh what Savant said is totally correct. You will lose a fair number of sales from people who have heard about your game but can't find it on the search engines. As Savant said, you have the problem of spelling, but you also have the problem of competition from other sites. A lot of them, including some well ranked forums will be full of 'psst's which will make getting to #1 for your own game name very hard, especially if it's a brand new site (sandbox anyone?).

Google has 2.2 million entries for 'pssst'. Where as for example my new game's name 'Mighty Rodent' has only 220,000

Also it' doesn't roll off the tounge very well.

Yep, PSSST was a game made years ago by 'Ultimate -Play the game' for the Spectrum home computer, funnily enough they same guys who set up Rareware... look here (http://www.rareware.com/) Microsoft purchased the company for an insane amount of money a few years ago.

Thank you all for your opinions about game name. Actually we are considering two different names. The first one is FLOWERMAN and second one is PSSSST (with four 'S' characters). What do you think which one is better ?

Yeah we know, that there is game named PSSST - goal of it is to protect a flower from insect. Goal of our game is similar, thatswhy we wanted to use the name PSSSST - do you think that can cause any problems (copyright, sales number or so ...) ?

Do you like the graphics on screenshots ? Do you think, that it needs some improvements ?

Similar names and different type of game is probably okay.

Similar gameplay and similar name may cause you problems. Basically if the owners of PSSST got wind, and they felt like it, they could probably take legal action and win. I strongly suggest you call it Flowerman instead.

I think the graphics look fine, but I can't really give you an opinion about the game until I play it :)

Using a similar mechanic and calling it by the name of the original is like saying to the world that you've just copied this game. I think that you're in danger of serious copyright issues. I would have thought that the last thing you would want to do is to remind people of the original game.

Hi all!

The main reason we made the screeshots with the name of PSSSST was to test your reaction. Now it is OK and of course we have everything in game prepared to be named FLOWERMAN!

Concerning the idea of old PSSST game - of course it is not true it has similar gameplay :) Our game FLOWERMAN is completely different with different ideas and gameplay. The only similar thing with PSSST that we also have flowers in our game :cool:

Main character of FLOWERMAN is named JIMMY will be protectiong his property and it includes his house, garden, food, and his little baby... etc.. Dont worry the old game from ZX spectrum ! FLOWERMAN is very different in many ways!

So lets close this chapter. We will be relasing the DEMO of FLOWERMAN soon, which is completely original game with original gameplay and features.

It is cool they look like clay-made! But no ;) they are made using 2d+3d techniques ;) and artist's pure imagination
