My name is Brent Lowrie and I am an animator and illustrator currently working freelance in Calgary, a lovely wee town on the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains. I have over 10 years experience in the interactive, animation and graphic art industries including a three and a half year stint at the Vancouver studio of Walt Disney Animation Canada (no longer in existence).
Please take a moment to check out some of my work, then drop me a line and let me know what you think. If you are looking for a reliable, passionate and creative individual for your next project, give me a shout and let's bring your latest characters to life!

I have worked with Brent in the passed and would love to do it a lot more often... if my managers would let me outsource... :(
He's got great skills and work ethics... the ideal freelancer if you look for someone to outsource art...

Thanks for all your comments and Chris! great to hear from you. I'll drop you a line to chat soon.
I agree I should shorten that rooster's monologue. Thanks for the advise.

I think its a better idea to have the possibility to choose from many videos, that way people will say right from the begining "oh!, this person really has a lot of experience!", and the ability to stop a video and go to the next if they have seen enough.
Nice animation work indeed.

I totally agree and my site was originally organized that way and will be organized soon with individual clips. I just re-designed it (thanks SherWeb) and I haven't had the chance to re-organize my portfolio. I best get on that as some of the clips are a bit long and whereas most folks don't want to sit through long monologues about farming in western Canada, some potential employers/clients like to see a piece in its entirety (good or bad)! Please check the site again soon to see these changes implemented.

Another thumbs up here Brett!
The Kung-Fu chick was the best one for me, but I did like them all.
You should submit something to Treehouse TV. Even your short animations blow anything they're pimping to my children out of the sky...

Hi all
Well it's been a wild few months and I finally found some time to update my demo reel and character gallery. I have more to post to my website in the coming weeks as I have a backlog of stuff to post that I recently had NDA released on.
Here are a couple pics from the most recent project... a retail information kiosk:

The artist's name is Lanre' Obisesan. The animation took roughly two weeks from concept to delivery and was produced in Anime Studio Pro. I hope you enjoy it.
I would like to see more

On May 1st I will be launching Anomaly Animation Studios, a full-service animation studio specializing in character creation and animation for interactive, web and television in both 2D and 3D. You can expect the same high quality art and animation as I am currently producing. Speaking of which...
Here are some images from the interactive educational Shockwave3D website www.wonderville.ca (http://www.wonderville.ca) I have been involved with over the last seven years or so, actually I was the lead creative for the first five years of its existence.

There is an entire barn interior and a farm exterior as well. I'll get renders for them as well soon. Cheers!

Hi All
Here is a 3D version of a character I designed for an upcoming music video. I was originally going to be producing the video with 3D characters and 2D backgrounds but may be going completely 2D so he may not appear in this form. Wanted to take him into the 3rd dimension anyways. Hope you like him. Cheers!
