Here's a moderately interesting idea - however I have no way of knowing how to go about doing it.
So many indie games I've played have great music. However once I've played the game or moved on - I still enjoy the music. It would be great if the collective indie game developers here would compile a CD of the 'best' indie game soundtracks/music as a way of getting a bit more money from a game? Plus perhaps someone will listen to the music of some game and feel inclined to check out the game itself.
On the same topic- what are your favorite game soundtracks?

On the same topic- what are your favorite game soundtracks? Big Kahuna Reef has a most excellent soundtrack that is one of my favorites in indie gaming.

"Beesly's Buzzwords" and "Glow Worm" by Flashbang Studios both have seriously awesome soundtracks.

Bit of a plug, but my composer http://encoremusic.dmusic.com/ (http://encoremusic.dmusic.com/)has just done me a new title track. It's perfect-- the music I always wanted for my game and I'm soooo pleased with it.
It's deffo my fave game music of late. And it's mine! Bwah-hah-hah!
I love that Egyptian (?) sounding track from Gish.

the retro stuff like the Whizball remix on Platypus.
Actually the music on Jets'n'Guns is pretty good too.
May be interesting for the artists. This music label is specialized on game soundtracks:

I love the music from Gish. A music track i enjoy as well is the one from Bubble Blitz. If we would take music from Commercial games as well, then the song from the credits of Max Payne 2 totally rock.

Several fine, indie jazz musicians contributed to The Witch's Yarn's soundtrack. You don't have to buy the game to listen to the music. You can access all tracks from the credits/preferences screen. You'll find the full tracks on the musician's website.

Sorry this is a bit of a plug, but it's kind of relevant :)
I've just added a music page to my website where you can downoad some of the music from my games as mp3s. Of course, I'm hoping this will drive more traffic to the site.

Any feedback would be great, thanks.

For the people who like the Bubble Blitz music you may want to check out Staffan Melin ( http://melinmusic.com/ ) as he did all the music.
As for the idea in general, I really like video game music and would also be interested in something like this.

Though it wasn't quite my cup of tea, I was very impressed with the quality and range of music tracks when reviewing Zombie Smashers.
Otherwise, I'll quickly mention the electronic stylings of Mark Sheeky's Flatspace games...
