Los Angeles meetup?

Hey, I'm new here, please excuse me if this is come up somewhere and I didn't notice it. I did a search and I didn't find any mentions of LA or the LA area on this board outside of a post on E3 and a post on living conditions.

I'm just curious if there is any interest in an LA meetup for Indies or those interested in going Indie? With all the game industry that exists out here I'm guessing there must be several of you who live hereabouts?

I'm a game programmer for cell phones myself with a goal of spending a year developing game ideas to then start indie work next year. I live a bit north'ish of Culver City but also spend a fair amount of time in Long Beach. It would be fun and maybe educational to meet up in a pub or a pizza joint if there was any interest.

In the meantime, I'm in the Culver City area and am always looking for excuses to pull me away from the keyboard.

I could duck under the Orange curtain to make it to LA now and then for an Indie games meetup.

I went to a few LA IGDA meetings and was not really interested in what they had to offer. But I would love to get together with more people into Indie and Casual games. If Brian is there I'll be there.

Is anyone else in Orange County?
