Ok, hands up who's been recruited by the CIA!

I also found this quote on the last page interesting:

"Show me the games of your children and I will show you the next 100 years."

That is an interesting read. I spotted the name "Manifesto Games". Wasn't there a huge debate about them earlier?

Phewww!! Big load off my back knowing we are totally prepared if aliens attack. We'll just rally the Quake 4 clans and wait for victory :D

"Show me the games of your children and I will show you the next 100 years."

More seriously though, I personally don't agree with that statement.

My grandfather used to tell me (dead now) how building models, train sets, collecting stamps/bottlecaps and board games were all the thing. Yet his generation started 2 world wars.

When my father was growing up, every boy had his army set and GI Joe was the man, and if you didn't have a pellet gun, you were a wuss. Yet my fathers generation started the 60's peace movement and eventually put an end to the cold war.

My mom's generation of girls all had their hairstyles makeup head, yet they pushed the women's liberation movement and got women into real jobs.

I don't believe kids aren't as dumb as the games they play.

Yes, it didn't sit quite right with me either. I'd be interested in reading the book though, to find out the supporting argument. Perhaps in context it is more convincing...
