Hi,
About typical graphics needs of indie authors, there's a matter I would like to know.. I am an all(2d,3d,pixel art, illustration,2d-3d animation..etc) profiles graphic artist, and I wonder if all programmers really are needing the full game thing in graphics terms from same guy, or if for whatever the circumstances, in several cases they are after just some areas where they want more polishing, or where they want to focus the player attention, etc.(or simply, the work for example was done by only a pixel artist who could not make the 3d side of things, etc) I have seen a bit of this in Help Wanted forums, but i wonder if this is frequent, and of course, if it is usually paid, even if medium/low prices.
I don't just "suspect"; I know that this would benefit largely the developers, but that is one thing, and another very different if there's an habit of doing this, or even just the intention or desire.
I have worked so with like 3, 4 persons in the recent past (I'm basicly a game company worker(in active, (sadly?)), more than a freelance, so I can actually only do medium to small things, though very carefully done ) .
So, I know that it works, and I know it helps the developers. But the indy developers could be preferring another route. I plainly don't know (statistically speaking) , that is why I am asking :)
The flow of this, how frequent these things would happen or appear, could make me take many of the asked (paid)stuff. What I don't know is if this is occasional as only lately I am looking more at these forums. (But I randomly visited even in Dexterity forums times)
