:D Hello.

I'm unemployed for 7 month now. and still  working on my first commercial game. my site is http://360.digitalthinker.org
I'm still working on homing missiles.
competing with Kaiyin

I'm from suriname, it is in the north of south america (north of brazile, for those who don't know where I'm from)
It's not one of those wellfare countries, it's second /third poorest country in the western region(Haiti is still the poorest)
That mean..... If I can earn above $10.000 a year,
that's more then my old job. (Jewellery Salesman, around $400 a month)

$19.95 - 10% (CC processing fee) = 17.95

10,000 / 17.95 = 557 orders/year
557 / 12 months = 46 orders/month
46 / 30 days = 1.5 orders/day

This is a pretty achievable goal...

Well if I have 2 different games for $19.95.

$19.95 minus cost = $15.
2 multiply $15 = $30.00

well lets just say
50 orders a month for both of these games, 25 order for one game a month.

12 * 50 = 600 orders a year.
600 * $30.00 = $18.000.00 a year.
Ok. i'll get back to work. :D

I also have some questions about some types of games.
Like SHMUP ,fighting and RPG games.

Do they sell? when you compare them to Puzzles games.

Living in a poor country really have it's Pro and Con.
Pro.
I think that there's no Internet taxes, yet.
Living standard and cost are low.
Very very low when I compare to some of my relative who live in
Hong Kong and New York.

Cons are.
Crime rate (what they say about the blackman is true :p ),
Software Piratcy, well almost every body is doing it.
from Music CD, DVD, Software ,Computer and consoles Games, Shoes and Clothes.

This is a pretty achievable goal...
Hmm... for someone starting from scratch, 1.5 sale a day IT IS NOT an easy goal, expecially on Windows market... believe me... don't want to discourage you, but this a fact... ;)
You may sell that the first month if your game is good but then is very hard to mantain that rate...

Sirrus said achievable, not easy. I agree with both : it's achievable but not necesarily easy.

and what about 1 game a week?

RedKnight:
It's hard to tell, it all depends on many aspects like:
-how does your website look?
-what are your marketting efforts?
-how does your game appeal to the customers group that comes to your site?
-Do they have a good reason to pay for the full version?
-Are they confident with paying via internet using your page?
-how many games do you sell
etc.etc.

All in all, you can have a great game and poor marketting or website and make little money, you can have poor game with great marketting and great website and make more money... of course a good mix will start to give you much cash... but it usually takes some time to find a decent mix.
From what i remember you're looking on average for like between 1 to 4 years of hard work to earn fine money (>1000$/month steady income), of course without 100% chances for success :)

@RedKnight,

To avoid turning this thread into a completely different debate, you may want to edit the politically incorrect statement (regarding crime rate) in your previous post...
Just a friendly suggestion.

Back on topic:
You goal seems to be quite reachable, but it requires a lot of hard work.
If your first game only sells a few copies, don't give up. Instead, try to learn as much as you can from the experience so your next game can sell better.
Good luck!

stupidity to quote yourself but... ;)

Guys, we are doing OK. But that required amount of time and efforts.

Why I'm saying this? Because I have found a couple of follow ups to our server from this thread. :D
