From the RULES:

Games previously published or distributed for profit are ineligible (through an outlet or the web). Free distribution through the web is ok.

Yeah, I wonder about that. I guess that they only want new games.
Maybe it's okay if a game is sold before the event is held, just not being sold before the submission deadline? For example, I think for the IGF contest, it says it's okay if your game gets a publisher after their submission deadline. Or maybe the BIGC contest is only for freeware games?
