To All Utah Area Indie's,
Our next Utah Indie Night will be held on Wednesday, January 18th at 7 pm at the Ninja Bee offices in Pleasant Grove. (Again a big thanks to Ninja Bee for hosting this event at their site). Email or PM me if you need directions to get there.
Format will be like last time, an informal get together to chat, eat pizza, talk about the industry, see what others are doing, show off your current project, etc. Also, If you can, please bring some cash to chip in for the pizza and munchies.
Feel free to invite anyone else that you know that has some interest in Indie Games as well.
If you have any other suggestions, please let me know. Hope to see everyone there!

Hey Utah Indies!
I'd like to show up for the pizza party with 2 other guys working on a game project with me. Do you have some directions to the meeting place? I've never been to the Ninja Bee office.

We had a great evening last night with 14 people showing up. There were a bunch of new faces there this time as well. Our group is growing and I think it will ultimately benefit everyone. The roads were getting a little slushy when most of us left, so I hope everyone made it home safely. Unfortunately there were some that couldn't make it this time due to scheduling conflicts, weather, car-probs, etc., and I want to let them know that they were missed.
We had pizza, munchies, five game demos that were shown (with some good feedback given), and of course lots of talk about the industry and other indie game topics. I found the evening to be worthwhile on lots of different levels. I'm sure most everyone there felt the same also.
We are doing this quarterly, so next one will be in April. If you know of anyone else that would like to be added to our notification list, please drop me an email (mailto:greg@monkeytimesoftware.com). Thanks.
Hope to see everyone at the next one!

P.S. The 2006 Slamdance Guerilla Gamemaker Competition is happening this weekend in ParkCity (and SLC), in case anyone is interested in that. The competition is part of the Slamdance film festival (a competitor/alternative to the Sundance Film Festival going on at the same time). I believe there are some people from this community (like Andy Schatz) that are involved with that.
EDIT: Jay Barnson (Coyote) just put up a blog entry about the event on his site, with more detail. It can be found here here (http://www.rampantgames.com/blog/2006/01/january-utah-indie-game-dev-meeting.html).
