Hi guys I am doing some research and trying to gather different business models related to publishing, distribution, portals, etc. etc.

For example, the "standard/popular" method is a company publishes your game and you make X percentage of the profit (i.e. 20%). Or a company publishes your game and pays you X amount of dollars (i.e. $10,000) for the rights to publish your game.

What other models are there? For example, is there a model like this: you get paid $0.05 cents for every time someone plays your game? ETC. ETC.

Thanks!

I think there is a business models section in the IGDA Casual Games (http://www.igda.org/casual/) White Paper.

errr, how about the 'obvious' model, where you sell the game yourself and actually keep some of the proceeds of your hard work! I know everyone here is keen on portals but christ, is the selling it yourself option now relegated to being unmentionable?
I sell my games to make ME money, not anyone else. And so far, my business model is going ok.
