It is also fun to look at which companies had the most appearances in the Real Arcade top 10. Companies are ranked based on how many times one of their games appered in the top 10 list. A company gets credit for any game it developed, published, or distributed to Real. For example, both Play First and gameLab get credit for Diner Dash’s 30 appearances. If it wasn’t for Diner Dash, neither company would be in the top half of the list.

It is interesting to note that this is a complete list of every company that had a game in Real’s top 10 in 2005. I was originally going to just list the top 40 or 50 companies but it turns out there are only 56 companies that played a role in one of the games in Real’s top 10 in 2005.

In 2005 there were 96 different games listed in Real top 10 and they were all made or published by one or two of 56 different companies.

See more detail in the: Top Companies Chart (http://www.game-sales-charts.com/cms/index.php?option=com_dbquery&Itemid=33&task=PrepareQuery&qid=30) (be sure to change the start date to 2005 if you only want to see results based on 2005 as I am doing here) This post only includes 2 columns of data (no tables on vBulletin :( ) The actual chart on game-sales-charts.com lists other columns so that you can see which games the companies played a role in and how many weeks there were in the top 10. Plus, the games and companies are all clickable links to more data.

It would be interesting to see how this would look if we focused only on developers and didn’t give any credit to copies for only publishing a game. I’ll have to work on that.

Do you know how angry it makes me that Chuzzle and Gem shop are tied at #12?

I'll be back, I have to go take this out on my dogs.

great list thanks. Match 3 at the top of course, although to be fair it's a sequal of the original (and much better too).

Is it easy to do the list of just developers? So a company only gets credit if they developed it?
