Hi, I'm finishing this game, I hope in a month ... but cos It's my first shareware game proyect I really don't know what I'm doing :confused: ...

The game: Dylo's Adventure V0.95 Installer (http://www.southwindsgames.com/archives/Dylo´s%20Adventure%20V0.95%20Installer.exe)
The Screen Shoots: 1 (http://www.southwindsgames.com/images/DASS1.jpg), 2 (http://www.southwindsgames.com/images/DASS2.jpg), 3 (http://www.southwindsgames.com/images/DASS3.jpg), 4 (http://www.southwindsgames.com/images/DASS4.jpg), 5 (http://www.southwindsgames.com/images/DASS5.jpg)

Reqs: Win9x, DX 7.0, 64mb ram, 4mb video card, DX7.0 compatible sound card.

With 'F' toggle fps showing.

No bugs that I know, except from lost-devices problems.

What I'm looking for? All you have to say about it ... errors reports or sugest are all very wellcome, languaje faults, lows fps and so ...

Thanks

languaje faultscos -> because
It's -> it's
proyect -> project
Screen Shots -> screenshots
errors reports -> error reports
sugest -> suggest (and you probably meant suggestions)
wellcome -> welcome
languaje -> language
lows fps -> low fps
What I'm looking for? -> What am I looking for?

More when I actually download the game :) Suerte y saludos desde el otro lado del charco ;)

I like the graphics a lot and I think the gameplay has potential. My biggest beef is that the controls don't feel responsive enough. His jumping feels sluggish. I also don't like how he slides a little forward after jumping. It makes jumping onto platforms feel slippery. There's also a jump pad on one of the levels that's really hard to get to work right. It should be easier, given the cuteness of the game. Get someone to help you with the English passages, too, and you might be on to something.

Hi Manuel
Yes but he reffers to the "Rio de la plata".
To go from BSAS to Montevideo we say "Pisar el charco".

Hi!
Well, for years I wanted to see a game inspired by "Adventure Island" and now I can see it!
Game is great for every "Adventure island" fan and they will also recongnise the similiarities in gameplay, setting and some characters...
My biggest complaint is not complaint at all! It's just a consern about gamers who are not used to "Adventure Island" cruel gameplay - the main character slides when walking, so it's very easy to miss platforms or fall from them! But that was in the original game too!
The other thing is just that on the first level background and foreground land has the same gradient color so it makes it a little hard to tell where one ends and the other starts. Can be a little confusing for the first time.
Also if you press left/right while "get ready" is displayed the character moves slihtly like he is in the first frame of certain animation.
All of these are minor things - great game, and I think if people will recognise "Adventure Island" from their childhood Nintendo days - they will buy it for sure!

Quite nice. The world needs a good Wonderboy remake.
I agree with the other people - the game is too difficult.
Don't forget to add some save feature. Having to start all over after Game Over sucks.

i have died > 8 times within 5 mins of gameplay ( falling into the hole mostly ) ... I think i just lack the patience and skill to do well in adventure type of game . :) the graphic is cute

I like old platformers, but I think you're setting the difficulty too high too fast - being immediately faced with a tricky jump surrounded by monsters (which you don't KNOW don't kill you in one touch, since you haven't played before and the game didn't tell you this) is pretty daunting. It took a lot of tries just to get past those first few steps... with extra frustration for waiting through the "getting ready".

Consider an intro level where the player can just get the hang of moving and jumping with your slippery movement without being faced with WATER OF DEATH and monsters and such?

I would agree with others who have said that it is a bit difficult a bit too early on. I'd also say that the default sound level is too high (compared to the music level) and that the art could use a good layer of polish...

Maybe up the friction just a tiny bit, too.

Oh -- and it ran really slow on my machine.. Athlon 64 3200 with a gig o' ram and a Geforce 6800GT...

hm... what else... send me your script for the story elements and I'll rewrite it for ya!

Rock on with the platformer goodness.

Thanks for the feedback.
About difficulty, you will found this levels at 3/4 game, the Idea of the Adventure Island is to play with your self-control, you must be patient and have a cold mind.

All of these are minor things - great game, and I think if people will recognise "Adventure Island" from their childhood Nintendo days - they will buy it for sure!
I hope so ... it's the main idea, thanks!

Don't forget to add some save feature. Having to start all over after Game Over sucks.
Yes, it's indispensable, thanks.

You can hit space to skip this ... anyway I have to do something about because nobody like it.

Is slow > 50 fps?, it's go by software (software antialiazed blitting), so in a pentium II 466 gets 20 fps and in a pentium IV 2.2 ghz gets 56 fps.
An OpenGL codepath is coming soon.

hm... what else... send me your script for the story elements and I'll rewrite it for ya! Thanks for offering, it will be geat!, but I have not finished all the texts yet :( I still have to modify a lot of things.

Thanks to everyone.
