Thanks to everyone so far who has tested the previous versions - it's much appreciated.

I've just uploaded a new test version which can be downloaded at http://addictive247.fileburst.com/babyboom2beta.zip

Screenshots HERE (http://addictive247.fileburst.com/babyboomscrshot1.jpg) and HERE (http://addictive247.fileburst.com/babyboomscrshot2.jpg)

Just extract both files to the same folder - no installer yet.

What's different in this version (quite a bit actually!). . .

* There are a good few options in the Options menu which now let you customize how you play the game. You can turn off the power-ups and the bonuses and if you're feeling really hard you can also turn off the warning sounds and smoke on the machines!

* Power-ups are introduced once a baby has gone through the last machine on the production line and not when they go off the screen. This means that power-ups are more frequent, however they are gradually introduced across all the levels.

* Delivery bonuses for getting a baby through all the machines and then off the screen.

* Some of the levels have been changed slightly. Some are a bit tougher with the machines over-heating a lot faster on some of the later levels.

* Speed Up power-up should be more noticeable now.

* This test version lets you play 6 main rounds plus 3 bonus rounds. No nag screens yet so it will just boot you out to the high score table when you get so far into the game.

Any thoughts or feedback would be appreciated. I'd especially like to know if you think the level of difficulty for levels 4 to 6 should be increased?

Thanks,
Marc.

I still feel this game has a lot of potential, though it seems to progress pretty quickly. If you added in some kind of money system so that players would have to repair machines and upgrade between missions, this would almost be like something Bullfrog would have made back in the day. :D

Thanks Brian.

One idea was to have some kind of management side to the game where you had to make money to keep running the factory but this wasn't really the direction I want the game to go in.

With regards to the game progressing quickly - I've also got a set of speed rounds which will be added to the game every few levels or so which should balance out the players' progress more.

I like it and hope you have/had some luck with that 'publisher' with it!
