Hi!
I'm going to release my game, so i decided to give it name with word 'ASYRIX'. Could anyone who spoke english well tell me what associations occured with 'asyrix'? How it heard?

My game is sci-fi shooter. So, it's best for me if it associated with something new, technologic or with a name of a planet. Am I wrong in my decisions?

Hi Reven,

I've never read or heard of 'asyrix' before. I did a quick search in google and nothing, that made any sense, came back.

My game is sci-fi shooter. So, it's best for me if it associated with something new, technologic or with a name of a planet. Am I wrong in my decisions?

Interestingly, i found this when i did a search for the word 'Asyrus'.

Asyrus, Great Star
Asyrus is the brightest star within Ar, revolving around Aryan approximately once every cycle. The span of the festivals at the end of a calendar year occurs when Asyrus passes between Solaris and Aryan, disappearing from sight for five days.

So, if you're looking for something related to planets and things like that, Asyrus might be a better choice.

Personally, i think 'asyrix' is a good title.

I hope this helps.

This word does not exist in the english language. I looked it up on the internet and saw no associaton in english, although I think I saw something with that word in german. Also the word 'asyrix' cannot be found in the English dictionary or the Wikipedia.

You sure it is spelled correctly?

Oh yeah.. I think 'Asyrix' is a great title for a sci-fi shooter too!

When I first saw it, I read it as "Asterix", as in the character from Asterix and Obelix. But I don't know if anyone else would make this association.

Overall, sounds good to me. I think "Asyrix" does have a sci-fi ring to it.

Far be it from me to name your game but: 1) At first I thought it said "Syria", as in the country; 2) The name doesn't particularly excite me. It is so... standard and meaningless. (In fact, it does sound just like the name of yet another same-old-same-old shooter.)

That's just my opinion, of course. :)
