Hey all!

I'm going to be on G4 for what looks like it will be a very brief appearance on Monday (http://www.g4tv.com/attackoftheshow/episodes/4483/5155.html).

Is there anyone who has the ability to record the show and digitize it?

I'm not exactly sure what I'll be talking about (I've started to wonder if my appearance will get canceled honestly). We've talked about a variety of indie games and related topics (indie games on the Xbox 360).

Anyway, appreciate any help anyone might be able to give on this :)

:)

Well it looks like we are set for the main things for me to talk about, might be a little XBox 360, and 2 games: Tribal Trouble & Mexican Motor Mafia with the possibility of a 3rd: Jet's'n'Guns.

Hope it is enjoyable!

Awsome! I've set my DVR to record it on Monday. You'll do well. I may be able to digitize it for you. I've done a bunch of video editing in the past (so I have the equipment), but I never tried to get anything off of the DVR into the video editing machine. I may be able to do this; I'll give it a shot.

Saw the segment and was good. Funny I wasn't even looking for the interview and heard "next up is Russel with GameTunnel" so stopped channel surfing. Mexican Motor Mafia looks interesting.

Nicely done Russ! :) I liked the little drop about IndieGamer in there also. Also I noticed that you ended up at the top of the pile on the "Attack of the Show" page (On top because it was posted last -- They saved the best for last, of course ;) )

Also, thanks Nick for digitizing the segment; you beat me to it! ;)

Listening to the audio (since the video didn't play for me) the host seemed to be in a hurry - "okay... okay... yeah... yeah... okay... okay... cool! okay... okay... yeah... yeah... okay... okay... cool!"

Think he was more nervous than Russel ;)

Think he was more nervous than Russel ;)Haha, oh wow. Who was that guy? Not that I'd be any better on TV, but still.

Nice work again Russel. Killing servers and taking names.

Thanks all!

I talked to Kevin after for about an hour about Indie Games, it was too bad he wasn't able to do the segment. Will was fun, but Kevin attacks things a little more, which can create a fun interaction. Biggest mistake was I got cut off when I was about to talk about Machinae Supremacy and forgot to come back to it :(.

I also chatted with Kevin afterwards for a long time about the Revolution and Indie games on the 360 and about the IGC. I mentioned that MS will be at the IGC and I think/hope that some of the unannounced 360 titles will be shown. He seemed interested in possibly covering it if they could work it in.

Anyway I appreciate all the warm regards, I wasn't as nervous this time, and had a good time despite the havok that being on put into my schedule. Hope it was helpful to indies near and far ;).

I actually think you come across very well on tv, and in the word of gaming that's saying something! (I really enjoyed the recent Sophie Blackmore Spartan interview - whilst the fallout over that seemed to be lots of teenagers posting about her looks, all I could think was "wow, someone talking about games who actually doesn't sound mental when they open their mouth".)

Anyway - I think you've found your calling, Gametunnel TV next :)

Yeah you looked and sounded very pro, not nervous at all, i think you'd be a very good presenter. You remind me of Byers from the Lone Gunman for some reason.

? :)

Thanks, I actually have a little experience, though not on TV until G4...my day job is training...so I spend a lot of time in front of audiences, and I actually really enjoy it! So who knows? I'm glad to be adding credence to indie gaming!

I'm downloading this now...I really appreciate this! I'm excited to see it and share with family and friends :).

NOTE:
Ah...sorry didn't realize it was just the audio. Sounded pretty good :) All those 'yeahs' in there were strange to work around.

Actually, it is video and sound, the video codec is DivX. I'll post it again in an alternative format in a bit (maybe WMV or MPEG-1, any requests?).

I'd like to see it, but my badly battered codec system isn't working, so no DiVX for me. Anyone care to share what was discussed?

Yeah, there might have been something wonky with the video file. It didn't play the video right in Media Player Classic, but played fine in WinAmp.

It worked fine for me in media player, i have divX installed though.
You can download the codec here

Here's the video clip in alternative formats:

33MB WMV (V: 640x480 1000kbps WM-9; A: 192K 44Khz-S WMA-9)
G4TV-Attack_of_the_Show!-2005-09-19-GameTunnel.wmv.zip (http://www.rasterwerks.com/link/G4TV-Attack_of_the_Show!-2005-09-19-GameTunnel.wmv.zip)

26MB MPG (V: 320x240 900kbps MPEG-1; A: 128K 44Khz-S MPA Layer-2)
G4TV-Attack_of_the_Show!-2005-09-19-GameTunnel.mpg.zip (http://www.rasterwerks.com/link/G4TV-Attack_of_the_Show!-2005-09-19-GameTunnel.mpg.zip)

I'm surprised how many people don't have DivX (or XVid) installed, but I'll keep that in mind next time, sorry about that. On the other hand, the WMV does look better than the DivX with only a slightly higher datarate (DivX seems to toss frames alot at this bitrate). The MPEG-1 should be playable on any OS. Russell, if you want the original MPEG-2 datastream (from DVR), PM me (about 120MB).

*ARGH!* I see TIGRS almost could have gotten a mention on there! Shame on me for not completing and popularizing TIGRS 2.0 yet. :( Perhaps that's just wishful thinking...

Honestly if I'd known the website off the top of my head I would have mentioned it...it was what I was thinking of :)

Honestly if I'd known the website off the top of my head I would have mentioned it...it was what I was thinking of :) I got that impression, especially when you stumbled into, "...they have their own s... [pause] thing." ;) Anyway, I really appreciate the thought, and it's my own fault for leaving the 1.0 in such an incomplete state for so long. In fact, you've inspired me to go ahead and finish up 2.0 before I complete my everlasting site launch. (I had hoped to launch them together.)

Just like I promised.

Attack of the Show 19th Sept 2005 (complete) (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LLBC3HJA)

I'll send the file to anyone who is willing to host the file as well, just PM me the details.

I can convert the file to whatever format you need. AVI, MPEG, WMV...
