This game started life as a Caboodle re-skin (heard that somewhere before) and developed into a new title; the second in a series of 3 (unless I decide to do an Aztec or Mahjong skin). I think this baby is much more sexy than the initial release and is *FREE* to all those nice people who purchased the original.

This game is currently only available on the Windows Platform, MAC and Linux versions will follow shortly and perhaps an online version (plug-in permitting).

Hi there.

To be honest i didn't like the game too much. Maybe because the gameplay was boring and very slow paced (for me).

The menu fonts were very hard to read, not mentioning that you have to drag the mouse excatly over the text instead of the whole button - that's small stuff but the thing that really bothered me was the slowly changing hints about the gameplay on the right. The fades were took much too long and made the glowy outlined instructions almost unreadable.

All in all I just don't like those type of games so I see only the drawbacks, but the overall feeling was very clean and quite coherent.

I would also suggest making the sound effect more prominent as they blended with the background music.

Best regards
Konrad

Don't know if you would like to get feedback.
Anyway here is mine:
- Installer does not allow me to choose install folder. Bad.
- I quite liked the gameplay. Lumines without timeline?
- The mouse control is inaccurate. It was often hard to hit the right column, especially when in a hurry. No, i don't want to play with the keyboard.
- What are the gems good for?
- What about these indestructible black blocks with red symbols?
- Classic Mode. Is there a way to advance to the next level or is it just one continous level?

Summary: Not a bad game that has some drawbacks. Especially the bad mouse control.

I propose to include C'Bubble as well as Caboodle here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lumines

When Wikipedia worldwide databases will be synced and Google will catch'em'up, your game will be easily found through dozens of wikipedia mirrors.

I'm not such a big fan of Lumines (besides Puzzle and VS mode). A lot of you are aware that forum already has couple of threads discussing these games. Here's my attempt to summarize available titles so far:

Lumines (http://lumines.jp/) from Mizuguchi (http://mizuguchi.biz/)
Verticube (http://www.frogtoss.com/verticube) from Frogtoss (http://www.frogtoss.com/)
Kaikai clone (http://acm.tongji.edu.cn/people/kaikai/lumines.php)
Quattro (http://www.seas.upenn.edu/~cttsao/) C#
Sweep (http://www.freearcade.com/Sweep.jav/Sweep_body.html) Java
Flare (http://moritzpost.de/blog/archives/16-Falling-blocks-game-renamed-to-Flare.html) Java open source
luminesweeper (http://pinocchio.jk0.org/lu/) GBA

Also, here goes my new "quizz" ;-)
Name a game from a world known guy that has game field similar to Lumines. Falling pieces from the top are being controlled by player using a complex two mouse button mechanism. Destruction method of groups is quite different. Difficulty ramp is quite high. This is the first game to introduce algorithm similar to Zuma's "don't give a player useless colors that aren't presented on the screen". If you'll cross Tetris with this game, you'll get Lumines. The game has very funky resolution - 600x400.

Thanks for the feedback people.

Here are some changes :-

Improved readability of text in menus (for me anyway)
Increased MouseOver Areas for Buttons
Improved Hint fades
Removed Mouse Control Completely - it's just too inaccurate. You can still control menus with Mouse/Keyboard/GamePad.
Included GEMS and Indestructable blocks in instructions (oops)

New version is ready now.
