After all the great feedback about Baby Boom 2 I've been adding a lot of new features to the game.

The new test version can be downloaded at http://addictive247.fileburst.com/babyboom2beta.zip

Just extract both files to the same folder - no installer yet.

What's different in this version . . .

* Power-Up balloons have been added. They float up once a baby has gone through all the machines. There's five different types so far.
* Machines start to smoke when they are getting to a critical level. Good as a warning indicator to the player.
* Bonus round every few levels or so where you have to match colored presents to increase your combo score.
* Windowed mode available from Options menu.
* Changes to the Level complete screens and some general effects etc.

This test version lets you play upto about Round 7. There's no nags in there yet so it will just throw you out to the High Score table.

There's still work to do but all comments about the game would be appreciated.

Haha, given the fact that I'm a spastic, I couldn't stop wondering how those babies stay alive after being put through all those machines. I also kept thinking about how much funnier it would be if the machine overload sequences were a little more violent. :}

i think the smoke definetly helps draw the eye :)

@ AVataRR - when I was working on the design it was originally going to have a very violent side to it. However, my wife was pregnant at the time and talked me out of it. I think that was a good move.

Any other feedback regarding the gameplay/power-ups etc would be great

I thought it was pretty entertaining in a quirky sort of way. :) I'm just wondering how it'll scale up from what was shown in this beta (in terms of more machines, etc.). I thought the bonus round was good, though I would have liked more visual feedback on what was happening (i.e., bonus points displayed when I made a combo instead of just the combo notice). The balloon power-ups I thought should perhaps be more rare and that the slow down balloon really didn't seem to have much impact on the speed.

Until there is an speed-up power-up I don't notice the increase of speed, and there are too fews of them ... in a round I only get's two of them max ( maybe I'm too bad player )

Thanks for the feedback so far.

The speed up/down power-ups do speed up/slow down the production of the babies. I think I should make it more noticeable though.
At the moment the balloon power-ups appear once a baby has gone through all the machines and then goes off screen. I might change it so the power-ups appear immediately after the baby goes through the last machine. This will increase the amount of power-ups seen.

Oh, It´s got sense ...
In the bonus level the click-delay is so unsensible ... I think an animation for the hand when click will be usefull ...
