I released Xeno Assault during the winter, and Desperate Space during the summer. In total Desperate Space's first month's sales have been a lot less than Xeno Assault's, but conversion rate is higher (IE. I've had a lot less downloads). Baring in mind I used pretty much the same advertising strategy for both titles.
For example advertising on GameXtazy for Desperate Space bought in less than 1/3 the traffic than Xeno Assault did in the same slot during winter. Obviously this probably could be something to do with the ad not being so good at hooking, but it seems too big a difference to be down to the ad alone, as they both had a similar style to them (ship flying along in random action scene with some description text next to it).
So has anyone else noticed a similar, and significent summer low point in sales? Or do you think it's probably just down to bad ads/luck?
