The good part:
Nice quest, but add some kind of difficulty setting.
The gameplay is ok.
Tha parts that need improvement:
The music is annoying and to stressfull! Maybe something more relaxed should be in order?
It is a bit hard to read the informationtext... use better fonts... that contrasts with the background.
Sometimes when you get stuck in these kind of games you would like to get some hints... no fun to be stuck...
An undo action would be great!
A lot could be done with the graphics...
I think you should be able to use just the mouse or just the keyboard not both at the same time...
Keep up the good work!

Great feedback !! Thanks alot, the first midi track was actually made by my sister, I thought it's a pretty cute MIDI, which is completely opposite of what you feel. I guess i just have poor taste on music :D :D

Was going to write a longer feedback - but got too wrapped up in a quick reskin to show you what it could look like...
Reskin of level 3 - sandy (http://www.spriteattack.com/images/prodigy_1a.jpg)
Reskin of level 3 - greenish (http://www.spriteattack.com/images/prodigy_1b.jpg)
It's a grid based game - but atm it just looks too much like one. To get it up to a competative level the graphics need to be more engaging.
The idea is to make it look less like a grid by using a) a bitmap for the background ( maybe 10 different backgrounds for the game ) b) use variations for the tiles ( 1 tile in the editor but a random pick for the actual map ( eg. the rocks - I did 5 variations of them ) ) b) trying to add non-square shapes - eg. for the powerups.
The main idea is to give the game a unique atmosphere that will keep players playing on, exploring the game.
I would change the level select screen to a more quest like look - eg. a map with some highlights in there - eg. ancient ruins - and reflect the look in a matching tileset.
Also the idea of filling the whole screen with each level is not really ideal - leave blank areas around it [ eg. black background with some matching tiles to make a nice transition ] rather than try and fill the whole screen.
This would work well with early / easy levels at the beginning to get the player into the game on a moderate learning curve.
PS.:
My mock was a quickie - there might be issues with the depth-sorting ( some rocks are higher than the 32x32 standard tile ) and I used 8-bit alpha for the shadows and antialiased-outlines. Also the player sprite should stand out a bit more - brighter colours.
I like the engine and the puzzle idea - good job. Keep it up.

Thanks to the user review in Download.com , I have just fixed the bug at level 1 & 6 , now that level 6 should be 3 X times more difficult than what initially you have played . So check it out , Level 6 actually needs a lot more puzzle thinking than the previous 5 levels ..

I didn't try the game, so I will only talk about the screenshots:
The game's current graphics look too amateur. I wouldn't consider buying a game with such poor visuals. Sorry if it sounds harsh, but it's true... Screenshots are in charge of the first impression to the player and no matter how good your gameplay is, if your screenshots are not attractive enough, players won't try your gameplay. And in my case, even if I try the game and like the gameplay, I wouldn't play it much as it is not visually pleasing. For me (and I believe for most players) graphics are a great part of the gaming "experience". Poor graphics ruin the whole of it.
Now, with DayDream's "quick" reskin... that's another cup of tea. In those screens I see a beautiful game; the visuals make you think there's some sort of background story... I would be really interested in seeing how the game's like gameplay-wise.
Sorry if this doesn't sound too constructive. It's just my first impression and I think it may be useful to you. My advice is that you try to get some help with the graphics, maybe hire somebody (maybe DayDream can give you a hand ;))

Daydreamer is awesome.. Its just that simple.. I am capable of making games myself but I make horrid graphics, so that has always stopped me. If only I knew how to make some daggon grafix lol

Daydreamer is a great artist, it's pity that i have a really tight $udget on indie-game development. Look at where am i from . BUt i have definitely learned some cool art concept from this art master .
My next improvement will use Leper's music and prolly some of his art.
if the game does well miraculously i have no problem sharing profit with him so that both of us could buy some more cool casual games HA!:D.
shall we call it
The prodigious escapee Leper edition ? on the next version :D :D

haha.. well mr escapee I appreciate the offer but I'd like to remain a free agent for now. I just feel theres more we can do for this game to make it better.
I think that you could make the character move with the mouse too! Since you have keyboard to move the character but use mouse to use inventory the controls feel kinda funny. I was thinking you could make the right mouse button move the character in the direction of the mouse cursor and left mouse button for inventory usage. That way the game would be completely controlle with the mouse and I think "casual gamers" would love that. But keep the keyboard controls too for more accessability.

Deciding both mouse and keyboard for inventory selection and Pro movement respectively was the worst decision that i had made at the design stage. I thought it would be really cool, challenging and fun for casual gamers to mess with both control tools :D ...... arhh, guess i'm just wrong .. :D
Btw, My mum (approaching 60) seems to have no issue playing Pro escapee with keyboard every afternoon. so this is one good excuse for not changing the control . :p
