Map001 (action/rpg game MAKER for Engine001) has been released.

Here are a few of Engine001's features (note that some have yet to be included within this first version, but most have been):

Melee, explosive, and projectile weaponry make for varied combat styles (one may choose to implement but one of these or all if he wishes).
001’s lighting Engine allows the designer to add lighting to maps (including dark lights), adding ambience and atmosphere to one’s project.
Vehicles such as automobiles, boats, helicopters, and submarines are made available to the designer (and of course, one may create his or her own).
Customizability galore; characters, vehicles, doors and various other features may be edited in terms of appearance among other components.
001 allows up to 255 distinct tile-sets per map, with flexible support for animated-tiles.
Complex AI makes for challenging opponents and capable allies.
001 features advanced character and item designing for RPG, Action or RPG/Action genre games.
Turning/rotating items such as doors, turrets, and cameras are to be found within 001 – these features would normally have to be scripted.
Much more – features such as treasure chests, character routes, jumping, swimming are but a few features all made possible through 001’s usage.
The project expands to this day; scheduled features to be added include weather effects, levels (that is to say, the ability to add an additional ‘floors’ atop the initial ground floor) and the ability to create RPG genre battles.

You don't need to program stuff. Just work with it like a flowchart:

Tile-sets and animated tile-sets are easy to import and define:

Don't choose from sprites. Actually DESIGN your characters, uniquely and individually:

Don't create animations for your doors, just tell them what to do:

Don't choose from a huge list of items to have a character follow a path! Just design the path visually, and click anywhere to alter it and remove movements:

Want to have allies that help you fight AI? Want to have super complex team relationships that alter gameplay and define realistic battles?:

If you do not like the graphics, you obviously can import your own. This applies to audio as well.

Please give it a try. This will hopefully be the last time we post on the forum to advertise its release. So if you want to keep track of our project, keep us as bookmarks. Please send comments and questions to our message boards.

And please, this is a project we decided to make public, just for fun. We aren't interested in any monetary gains. Infact, the small ads at the top of our site are only to cover the web hosting costs of the web-site.

Alright, you can download it here if you are interested. We have the maker out, as explained. The maker offers a testing feature where you can test the game that you create.
