Hello,
I've recently released Leaderz (at Suntastic Software). After a lot of struggle, I finally made it! Oh, and some credits: wanna thank all the volunteer beta-testers, amongst which: Ana, Diodor, Raluca, Lucian, Daniel, and Alex (the *other* Alex)! So, without further ado, the request: we could use all feedback, particularly on the site appearance, and on the game's features and gameplay.
Game's web site: http://www.suntasticsoftware.com/leaderz.html

Demo link: http://www.suntasticsoftware.com/leaderz_download.html
Buy link: http://www.suntasticsoftware.com/shop.html
System reqs: if it's Win98+ and it's not DirectX, it works!
Known bugs: bugs? who do you call bug, mister?!
Thank you very much for all the help!
With best regards,
Alexandru

I played it, it was too complex for me, with all those buttons, map, names, statistics, all in the same screen, too much info.
Some things that pop out dont call too much attention, like when 5 years pased and a window popped out, and numbers started to appear and i dont have idea what that was, too fast, and i didnt know where to look at.
Anyway, congratulation for your release.

I tried it out and found it rather nice. Nice little game (with a bit of complexity to it). The only thing I wasn't to sure of was when you took another country ("Do you take over the One Place, or their entire country) and why doesn't it change to your color when you do? Thats the only thing I disliked, was the non-color change.
I'm going to check it out a little more when get home! :) (Just played one "Game")

Thank you :-)

One of the game's purposes is to prove that you *cannot* really conquer anything, not by violence anyway. So when you attack a country, you cannot conquer its cities; all you do is go there and destroy the economy and diminish it's population. Of course, such acts greatly reduce your reputation, which is one of the categories counting for getting high scores.
I guess I should have given more hints at that. In fact, given the comments so far, looks like the game should include some more info popups. Thanks, guys!

Alex

First, thanks for the feedback, Christian!

The game can be pretty deep, and we wanted to offer the hardcore gamers the kind of information they are used to, but without pushing off newcomers or casual gamers. So we put in the main screen small buttons that give you lots of hardcore gamers information, and big buttons that allow you to play safely. I will chack the forum to see whether this kind of newbie/hardcore gamer interface has been discussed -- might have made a typical first-timer mistake with it.
Some things that pop out dont call too much attention, like when 5 years pased and a window popped out, and numbers started to appear and i dont have idea what that was, too fast, and i didnt know where to look at.
Point taken!

Alex
