A number of use were talking about having another meetup for this month, and I just wanted to see if more people would prefer to meet in Chicago rather than Streets of Woodfield. I can go either way since I live right between the two. A number of people mentioned Chicago being easier for them, but obviously some prefer the suburbs.
Also, what day of the week? I liked having it on Sunday, but many people would prefer it to be on a weekday. So far, Impossible and I decided that Tuesday and Thursday are good candidates, and I would have to argue for Tuesday since Thursdays are a weekly meeting night for me as it is.
At the moment, I will take it upon myself to say we will meet at Dave and Buster's (1030 N Clark St) in Chicago on Tuesday, September 27th, at 6PM. Any objections?

I've been meaning to put out some info on this, September 27th sounds good. I won't be able to get there until 7 though.
I'll be there, but without much to show off. I'd cast a vote for Schaumburg (if it were up for a vote), but downtown isn't so much of a drive for me really either. I can probably make it by 6(ish).

Well, we can make it later if it is more convenient for people. Perhaps 7PM might be better to allow people to get to Chicago in the first place, let alone downtown.

I'd vote keeping it at the same place too... Closer for me :)

I'd love it if were at Dave and Buster's and that's the one week I don't have class so I'm game. Are there any planned costs?
Any details yet? I've never been to one of these before....

There shouldn't be any planned costs, although you might want to get some food or play some games. I'll post the details sometime next week.

I've never been to one of these. What usually goes on?

Well, for some time there were only a few of us attending, but we would go around the room and:
1. State what we worked on since the last meeting.
2. State what we plan to work in for the next meeting.
3. Ask for feedback.
Usually if someone had a laptop they would be able to demo their project.
Otherwise, we haven't really enforced too much structure on it. It's basically a chance for people to meetup, discuss game development, provide feedback, and be connected.
Most of the meetups were at Starbuck's in Streets of Woodfield. We can probably alternate between there and D&B's for each month or so.
Recently there was the Chicago Indie Game Dev Extravaganza at Gameworks, which had a huge turnout, so who knows how many people will show up at D&B's? I think it will be quieter than Starbuck's so we should be able to hear each other much better. Of course, this isn't an official D&B's event as we didn't rent a room and they don't have us down as an actual party or anything.
Also, D&B's has the Battletech pods that used to be at North Pier, so that game alone makes it worthwhile for me. B-)
