I think some time ago someone posted a tool or website where you entered some search engine terms ("play free games"), the result you were looking for ("www.mysterystudio.com"), and it reported the position of the site in the match list returned by Google.

Does anyone remember this, or know a similar tool?

I use the digital point keyword tracking service. You enter a bunch of things and can set up a cron job to check them every day and it will track it over time for you. Plus it's free.
