...mostly help to write correctly in the game :)

I need to put a choice of three option for the goalkeeper to take: basically they are:
1) try to hold the ball, to make a spectacular save
2) save normally the shot
3) try to make an effective save, less spectacular but efficient

How can I spell those three things correctly in a choice menu?

Also how can I write "your coach sent you to the bench" in a better way? I'd like 2-3 different phrases with that meaning (that is: the player don't play next match!).

Thanks to any soccer expert who can also write good english :D

For the goalie (assuming you're trying to encourage the player to take some risks):

1. Bodacious Save! (the super spectacular save)
2. Weeny Save (the regular save)
3. Righteous Save (the not-super-spectacular-but-not-weeny save)

For the player:

1. "You've been benched!"
2. "Benchwarmer, get off the field!"
3. "The coach is pissed. You're outta here!"
4. "Start practicing your golf game buddy. Ciao!"

obviously, it depends upon the kind of language you're using in your other phrases for the game...:)

Thanks :)
the goalie descriptions are ok I think, for the other I didn't explain myself well :P
They must be more descriptive, maybe less direct. Like:
"after your latest performances, the coach has decided to put you on bench"
or
"you aren't selected for next match. Please go to the contract screen... etc"

and so on :) uhm well maybe I could just use those ;)

"Next match you'll be giving the water bottles to your teammates"

LOL now that's too rude, I don't think a coach would speak that way to a goalkeeper... for how bad he may is ;)

Hi

How about...

1) One for the cameras.
2) Play it safe
3) Get your body behind the ball

And for the bench thing...

"you've been dropped from the first time"
"the manager has decided to 'rest' you"
"your name's not on the team sheet for this game"

1. Bodacious Save! (the super spectacular save)
2. Weeny Save (the regular save)
3. Righteous Save (the not-super-spectacular-but-not-weeny save)

 You're American, right? Those are not terms I would use for football. I would use something like:

1. "Tremendous save by the goalkeeper!"
2. "The keeper makes a good save."
3. "The keeper makes a comfortable save".

Well I'm North American anyways..;)

Like I said, it depends on the vernacular of the rest of your game...

Are these expressions happening in a voice/announcer voice? That's sort of the angle I was going for..

Thanks for the suggestions ;)
No they should appear in a msgbox thing, explaining why you don't play next match, should be "informative".
And the type of save should be also quite informal, I like the ones suggested by simonh :)

I think what you're after is to seperate it out into more specific reasons and probably have it as a conversation/note from the coach so it would be done in the first person.

using a message box you could have things like...
Message Title: "A word from the coach..."

Body #1 - "I feel your overall fitness has dropped in the past few weeks so we're going to rest you for this match and give Smith* a chance"

*Smith being the reserve goalkeeper in case you hadn't guessed.

Body #2 - "I wasn't impressed with your performance in the last couple of matches so we're going to have to stick you on the bench for the time being"

Body #3 - "You don't appear to be fully fit yet after your injury, we're going to rest you for the time being and see how it goes"

Thinking about it there's probably really only 2 reasons you'd sub your number 1 goalie, he isn't fit enough to play or you've got someone better to replace him.

Thanks a lot!
Infact in my game there are only those 2 reasons why the goalkeeper can't play :)) I'll use those phrases, thanks again.

1) "They'll put him on a Wheaties box for that save!"
2) "Textbook save!"
3) "Not pretty but he got the save!"

As for benching the gollie:
"Sorry Player1, We've decided we might do better without a golie next game" :p
