Hi guys--

Given that the PCZ thread has been resurrected, I just thought I'd let you know that, as part of the big revamp, I'm having some articles published in the mag over the next 6 months, which I'm hoping may be of interest.

It's about making my first game, and what it's like to be an Indie games developer. Article One is pretty much about me struggling with C++ and learning to code, but from then on it picks up pace and chronicles the development of my game, "Gibbage" nicely.

There'll also be .exes of my code on the coverdisk, which'll be in a 'playable' state by Article Three.

I was rather hoping to release off the back of Article Six and milk the free publicity for sales, but I'm working so hard at my full-time job that development has slowed and that no longer seems likely... oh well, at least there'll be an impressive demo on the coverdisk at Christmas, and some readers with some degree of a personal interest in the game... hopefully...!

Apologies for the plug, just wanted to let you all know, and encourage feedback. If there's anything about the Indie Industry you think I should mention in future articles, please do suggest them here. I'm all ears.

It's due out on the 18th of this month.

All the best,

Dan

If you want to follow the development of a project and give some free advertising then put me at the top of the list please. :D

Hah, sorry-- it's all about my first project, Gibbage.

Good free advertising, eh?

[Sefton, if you're reading this, it's not just a shameless free plug...!]
