Graphic Artist Needed

I have nearly completed a casual game called TriGone. Although inspired by the card game “Set,” TriGone isn’t really a card game at all. And, even though you do “match-3” I wouldn’t call it a match-3 game either. It was developed in Flash and, you can play the demo (well, it’s really the full version) at www.trigonegame.com.

I stopped work on the game about three months ago, and I hoped a friend would do some work on the graphics for me, but he has been too busy. At the point the game works for the most part, but that isn’t enough to sell any copies. Basically I have an application, and I need some help turning it into a game.

Like I said, the game was developed in Flash, so the more experience you have with Flash the better. I’ve seen some artists post some impressive work on this forum, but I don’t really need much art. I need someone who can work with vector based cards and graphics, fonts, layouts, and colors. I would like to see any examples of this type of work. Someone who has done some impressive, flashy web design might even qualify.

Of course, I will pay you. I don’t have a lot of money to throw at this, but I think we can work out something that is fair. If you are willing/want to take royalties as part of your compensation, I am more than willing (and would prefer) to include that in the deal. If you are interested PM me.

I do like the premise of this game, but I found it much too hard for my brain. Unlike normal match-3 where you just have to look at colour and shape, you have colour,shape,number,shading style. And you can only match one of these elements. This makes it pretty hard for the average person to get into. Its fine for people who are used to mental challenges like that, but not for new people.

I played several games on the easiest skill level, and in my best game I only managed to score one trigon... So I would suggest increasing the time significently in the easier skill modes. I would also suggest you remove the shading style parameter from the game altougther. Or only have it on harder skill levels. Quite often its very hard to tell a shaded shape from a solid shape, and with that many factors it makes it quite hard. I think I would like this game quite a bit if it was much easier (to begin with at least) and was most fast paced (as in I could actually get several trigons every 30 seconds).

Like you mentioned, you need some decent graphics. Even if your artist friend can't work on them, you should at least have a go yourself - most of the interface was plain text. I'm pretty certain your best art effort, would be better than no art at all.

Small world. I just learned to play that game("Set") with my wife this weekend. We both found it really challenging. Our heads hurt after about an hour of it. We also found that we each took completely different approaches to finding the matching cards. That's the beauty of this game in that there are many approaches to finding the matches.
