Greetings to all,
I just wanted to introduce myself to this board. I'm a french hobbyist game developer, and until now I've only made freeware games. I've always considered I needed to practice a lot in order to make quality games.
If you are interested, all my freeware games are on my site : http://www.momorprods.com
I've always been attracted by the Indie business. Until now I've been shy to enter the scene, but I've finally made one step : I'm nearly ready to launch my first game as an Indie !!! :)
So my first game product is a puzzle game (suitable for the whole family). If you are interested, you can grab the (freeware) light version from here:
http://mazemania.momorprods.com
The site is not yet "public", I've made no promotion yet. Feedback & comments welcomed !!!
Momor.

Since nobody else said it *you meany heads!* welcome to the forum.
Have a fruit rollup.
So, here's my feedback on your site.
A) Slow to load when I tried. Could be a dozen reasons for it. Took about 45 seconds.
B) Well, your website needs some work. Keep in mind the objectives of your site, whatever they may be, and prioritize them. For instance, a typical shareware site has the following objectives:
Generate Downloads
Generate Sales
Generate future leads (Newsletters, ect.)
Generate interest in the company
Generate community involvement
Generate interest in learning more about the game
Generate traffic to and from other sites.
Those are not exactly in order of what I feel are most important, but what is most important varies based on whatever business model and web design you use.
Take some time to surf these forums, click on people's signatures and check out their sites. You'll see a trend pretty quickly in terms of what links to have and a general idea on who puts emphasis on what.
Sincerely,
Momor

Many thanks for your feedback Joseph !
I'll try to make the Mazemania website more sexy at first. Then I'll think about a face lift of my main site.
Regards !

Hi Momor,
Welcome to the forum. We're all pretty friendly here, I'm sure you'll find a wealth of help here.
I quickly checked out your website. It was very slow to load for me as well. I use Opera so some pages don't always work as expected and I wondered what was happening at first. Apart from that, I thought the same. Needs a bit more work, perhaps giving several games a bit more prominence on the first page. What are your most popular titles, or the ones you want to promote?
cheers
John

Thanks for the feedback BlueCat (funny, you have the same screen name than a guy on the DGDev Forums).
For now I only want to promote the Mazemania game, with its own independent site: http://mazemania.momorprods.com
This it this URL I will submit to search engines, and link from everywhere possible !
The other site (www.momorprods.com) is only dedicated to my freeware titles (no need for promotion here). BTW, the most popular game on this site is RunOut, a car game, which is downloaded ten times more than the second one in my top list !!! (what a surprise :) )
Now for the slowness of my site, I'm aware of it :( . But it's the only free and without ads service I could find in France. I think I'll probably soon consider buying a decent host !

Come on, a host is about 5 dollars a month... I think you can afford it... heck, I don't think you can afford NOT to spend 5 dollars a month.
One less snail sandwich (or whatever you french people eat!)
-Joe (Consumer of Big Macs and other "American Garbage") ... that was a joke... I already can feel people getting offended.

ROFLMAO Sunshine !!! :)
Sure Terin, I think I can afford the website. This will be, say ... one BigMac less (we eat them in France too  ). I just need to take time to find it and register it (I have a fulltime job so I do everything in my spare time).

Hi Momor!
looks like we are making very similar products :D
My axis runner game is a 3D lode runner with some interesting twists... Still working on it, building up gameplay.

woohoo sweet math !!!!!
I'm happy to see that others give a try at a 3D Lode Runner. I'm not working anymore on this project, this was my 2nd PC game ever !!! :D
Are you also going the 3D tiles way to store your maps ?

Yes, but you still write 3D action games ?

I'm not sure what you are talking about here... Map (==level?) data is stored in sparse matrices (hash tables).
I couldn't download any of your games. :( The server is too slow I think.

woooot ???? no download ???
I've checked this morning, it was OK ... Tell me which game you want to download in particular, I'll give you a direct linky :)
Of course I'm still planning to write some action games. I'm currently involved in the Retro Remakes Compo, I'm working on an enhanced version of BurgerTime. But after that (this project will be freeware) I think I'll work on a car game.
