I gave it a shot and I like it!. The updating of the scores is particularly nice :)

The good:
- The updating of the scores (as gamemaker already mentioned) looks great!
- The graphics are well done and the card designs are works of art. I can see that women will love the hunky men on some of them. Big selling point to the many, many women who buy these types of card games.
- The gameplay idea is interesting.
The less than good:
- It took more than 10 seconds before I even knew the game was loading. I double clicked and it just sat there. Eventually, a loading screen appeared and even that took ages to finish. If this happens when people try the demo, the delay between clicking and loading will definitely be a sale killer. Would be for me anyway. (FYI, running on a 2 Ghz P4, WinXP, 1 Gig of RAM, NVidia video card)
- The music gets irritating after a while. An option to turn it off would be nice.
- The updating of the scores slows the game a little. Once you get the hang of the game it's hard to wait for each update to finish to play the next card. Not sure how to address this since the updating adds a great look to the game.
- There didn't seem to be any way to change your mind, even if you unintentionally pick the wrong card. Needs an undo.
- Would be nice to have the game in full screen rather than windowed. Is this an option somewhere I missed?
- It's a little dark and brown. The hunky men will appeal to the women but the dark nature of the game graphics might not. How you handle this depends on who your market is. If it's men, then darker is good but some large breasted females are needed. If it's women, lighten it up a little and keep the beefcake.
The rest:
- How come the computer wins when we both play the same strength card? Why isn't that a draw with no one getting a point?
- Once the hand is done (after 5 cards are played) there should be some recognition of this. A voice saying "next hand" or a flashing something on the screen - fireworks - anything.
- If I just click Next Hand there isn't any penalty. Essentially I am forfeiting the game in progress and moving to the next one. If I was penalized for this it would add to the strategy.
- How about wild cards? Or bonus cards? Some added aspect to make the game more interesting in the long run.
I enjoyed the game. I really did. But I can see that after a while it might get boring. Not sure what the goal is beyond getting a higher score. The best games have short term goals (winning the hand) and longer term goals (getting to a bonus round, getting additional weapons or powers.... you get the idea).
All in all, something that has serious potential IMHO and will appeal to the masses of casual card gamers.
