My website, http://www.mindscopesoftware.com, has been undergoing changes for a while now and I can't seem to settle on a layout or theme that I think would generate interest in my customers. Does anyone have any tips, suggestions, or comments for me?

I like your site as is... it looks professional already.
My only comment is that it looks like you made the page to fit 800x600, which only fills about half my screen.
The text page is pretty bland though... I forget which one that was, the third of fourth link/tab.
Sorry, I can't offer much more than that.

Yes it looks good already. Maybe add Fingerpaint download/buy links on the first page as well.
I'd also change font to verdana, arial or trebuchet...
1) Create file called style.css
(the style.css content should look something like this)
td {
font-family: "Trebuchet MS", verdana, arial, sans-serif;
}
(search google with keyword "css" for more info about cascading style sheets)
2) Add this line between -HEAD- tags in all your pages
<link href='style.css' type='text/css' rel='stylesheet'>
Looks good.

I assume that your website has 2 main goals:
1. Get people to buy your software.
2. Get people to download your demo.
And yet I cannot do either of those things from your homepage.
